Free agent Evan Fournier has agreed to a four-year deal that could be worth as much as $78M with the New York Knicks, source tells ESPN.

Last year is a team option. 72/4 guaranteed, probably would have been enough.
Can't believe we let another good player go for nothing.

Look at where we were just 4 years ago. Looking to take the league by storm.
And look at the roster now. It's embarrassing.

An embarrassment. Ownership needs to sell if they won't spend to be competitive.

Liam has $20.00..what do you have?

I will def match the $20 from Liam.

Nice start……we need to get some heavy hitters. Maybe LeBron wants to add to his portfolio. He an have one of his friends buy the team

I'm willing to double my offer if nessasary.

4 years, up to $78 million.

That’s a lot, but it’s also the type of building block salary chunks that is useful in trades.  Those are a lot more effective than cap space.

I'm very curious what Thibs will do with Fournier. He's not his usual athletic defensive-minded wing

This reminds me of last year, when the C's didn't do anything--then at the last minute, they got TT....Welp, maybe his trade will fall through and we'll have him again.

Fourth year is a team option.  Solid deal for both sides.

Fournier has gotta start, right?

G: E.Payton, D-Rose
G: RJ Barrett, Quickley
F: Fournier, Knox
F: Randle, Toppin
C: Mitchell Robinson, Nerlens Noel

It would be great for them if they replaced Payton with a PG who can actually shoot.

Fournier as 3rd option behind Randle and Barrett. D-Rose comes in takes over. 1-2 of the 3 starter scorers rest. They can keep 2 of the 4 on the floor at all times.

That is actually a pretty solid contract. I have no worries about being able to trade that deal next summer to free up cap space if the opportunity arose that Beal was willing to sign here.

Fournier is a definite starter with their lack of shooting from Payton. He balances out their group quite a lot.

Don’t know what to make of their 5 spot. Both very similar bigs with injury histories.

Agreed. I'm not so sure if it's good for the Knicks using cap space on Fournier, but it should be movable if needed. It's a contract the Celtics should've taken on in my opinion though.

Now is when we swoop in, convince the Knicks to give us a trade exception for Fournier in exchange for a 2nd, and rope them and Washington into our Atlanta-Sacramento deal, and send the Wizards four 1st rounders for Beal.  They won’t have to take on any salary.

Wouldn't that change the tone around here!

If we get a TPE for Fournier, perhaps Stevens is playing three dimensional chess after all. But have a bad feeling here…when would we know one way or another whether the Knicks are doing an outright signing or a S&T TPE for a second? Thought if we made an immediate S&T with Fournier, we’re hard-capped versus trading him at the deadline avoids that fate, so are we sure the numbers work if we do a S&T TPE?

We should just keep flipping players for TPE's, then flip that TPE for a player, then flip him for another TPE! Never-ending cycle of hope

It's all hindsight now since people were screaming at Ainge to do something at the trade deadline last year, but I wonder if it would have made more sense for him to not do anything and have that full TPE available to Brad this year if he knew he was retiring anyway.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D
