Some Cs intel I'm hearing as free agency rolls on:
-Fournier's return still quite unlikely
-Marcus Smart isn't going anywhere
-Cs could be priced out on Jeff Green
-Otto Porter/Patty Mills possible
-Cs remain focused on maintaining flexibility
-IT return not in cards

Well, the Porter bit is at least interesting. Still seeming like a "punt" year. Really concerned about how this kind of approach appears to Tatum and Brown.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

According to Keith Smith of Spotrac and CelticsBlog, the Celtics have not extended a qualifying offer to Fall for the upcoming season. As a result, Fall will become an unrestricted free agent.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

There's our favorite new buzzword, flexibility.

Aka, wasting a year of Tatum + Brown

Heat: 5 years, $90 million for Duncan Robinson.

But we can’t afford Fournier.

The Heat are not exactly killing it IMO. They just got an old, fat PG and signed the 20th best player in the NBA to a contract that will pay him $50 million at age 36. I am cool with us not handcuffing ourselves with Fournier.

So, we're doing all this for potential cap space for next year, but next year's class is looking more and more like it's not going to be that special now.

Curry likely extending

Butler now extended in Miami

Kawhi likely signing a longer term deal this summer

Highly unlikely Harden, Kyrie, or KD go anywhere

Are we really putting all of our eggs in the Beal basket? Sure, they may know more than we do with Tatum's connection with Beal, but A LOT can change in a year.

Knew the union president, Chris Paul, wouldn't take a cheap deal with the Lebrons. 4 years $130 million for a 36 year old, undersized PG :-*. That is insane. Showing his union brothers....always make bank.

I’d take Duncan over Fournier, personally.  So in my book this reiterates Fournier needs to come down to $16 million a year instead of $20 million.

We wouldn’t be handcuffed.

We'd be paying our 6th man $18 million a year and likely need to include many draft picks/assets in order to get rid of his contract when we realized he wasn't part of a championship roster construction.

What type of difference are you imagining he makes? From the 5th seed to the 4th?

How about Jaren Jackson Jr? He's coming back off a meniscus tear in his left knee. Is it possible that the Grizzlies would have second thoughts about offering him a max extension? I guess it depends on how well he plays next season. Collin Sexton might be a possible target as well. Would the Cavs match a max offer? Hard to say. Personally speaking, I'd pass on Sexton. I'm not a fan of his game.

My point is, it's not just Beal. There are plenty of intriguing possibilities.

Well he is injury prone. Good to see him maximize his last contract!
