I feel like the discussion of this has died down quite a bit from lebron had a growth removed from his jaw and Dwight Howard looked like a cartoon character. We have also seen a few suspensions although these seem to only come down for low level players. Do people think this has improved at all or do people just care less. I haven’t really heard anyone mention for Giannis this finals despite him putting on an insane amount of muscle.

Since he was 15, probably….ticket to stardom, I have NO doubt. He was ahead of the curve, now they’re rampant, and it’s deemed acceptable.

NBA’s policy has ALWAYS been lax….too much $$$$ involved.

As of 2018, here’s the list of guys to test positive for PEDs:

Don MacLean, Matt Geiger, Soumaila Samake, Lindsey Hunter, Darius Miles, Rashard Lewis, Hedo Turkoglu, O.J. Mayo, Joakim Noah

Does anybody find that credible?

I love the "European plasma treatments" that players like Kobe went through after major injuries.

I remember watching him play when he was in high school and thinking to myself My God this kid looks like he's a 30-35-year-old man.

Nah. They're all on it. Same in any of the pro-sports that make this kind of money (major American sports, boxing, soccer etc... maybe not golf?)
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Definitely golf as well. Could be the difference from driving 270 yards to 350

This is a major peeve of mine. I agree that tons of players — maybe a majority — are probably on some form of PEDs. The various pro leagues want to convince us they’re testing and therefore on top of the problem, but they have absolutely no incentive to actually catch guys beyond one or two here or there.

It’s not ok, because it totally warps competitive balance towards guys who are on the cutting edge of chemical substances and most willing to risk their future health, not the most talented and hard working.

Is Lebron really a greater small forward than Larry Bird? If it’s the case that one of them was juicing, then this question becomes impossible to answer. Similarly: is Westbrook really in the same category as Oscar Robertson? Did something just “click” for Chris Paul in the playoffs at age 36? And on and on. I find it maddening that we can not answer these questions with any certainty, and it’s all because the NBA has turned a complete blind eye to this problem.

I find it hilarious that so many people are questioning Chris Paul for reaching the Finals at age 36 but they never question Tom Brady for winning super bowls almost every year in his 40's.

Chris Paul, for once, has a really good young team around him and gets good rest during these games too. He's not bowling people over with his athleticism either.
