A tip of the cap to old friend Jae Crowder... A player who many thought had peaked when he was ushered out in the Kyrie Irving trade.

All he's done since is play high level, winning basketball.

In 2018-2019 he played on the Utah Jazz putting up a record of 50 wins and 32 losses
In 2019-2020 he made the NBA finals with the Miami Heat
in 2020-2021 he's back in the NBA finals with the Phoenix Suns

Can't knock that kind of consistency, availability, and overall success.

I’ve never understood why he was such a poor fit in Cleveland.  He should have been ideal there.

I agree, he should have been the perfect fit. His productivity dropped significantly, and he was traded at the deadline. Go figure. Who knows.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

BTW.  That's two starters the Suns have that could be Celtics.  After #8 where sexton was chosen, could have had Mikal Bridges,  Miles Bridges or wait for it Shae Gileous Alexander.

Brad Stevens looks like made the wrong choice

Jae Crowder is one heck of a glue player.  Underrated leadership.

Celts D hasnt been as air tight since Crowder was traded

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
People still celebrate this guy like he is some kind of warrior, but Jae Crowder was a big part of the reason why our potential dynasty went up in flames 5 minutes into the 2017 season. I'll agree with one thing - we absolutely shouldn't have traded him to Cleveland.

Yeah, I really can't understand the salivating over Crowder. He's never come close to his 15-16 level of play since we traded him

Big 3 from Jay just now.  I hated his foul on Hayward that tanked his career in Boston before it started, but I also loved Jay when he was in Boston.
