Sorry didn't see this posted elsewhere.  I was already excited for summer league but now it's must see for me.  Hopefully the C's can add someone in the 2nd that fell out of the 1st round and it will be a ton of fun to watch PP, Nesmith, Yam, Moses light em up.

Celtics stash Yam Madar, who made tremendous strides last season in shooting from deep among other aspects of his game, is headed to Boston for workouts. Madar is expected to play for the Celtics in the NBA summer league.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

You better be sorry!!  :P

This is great news, though. Seeing Yam in a Cs uniform - even if he isn't actually going to be playing on the team this season - will make him more of a reality. I will definitely be interested to see how he performs against other players in this format.

I know a lot of fans are hoping Yam becomes something. He did put up good numbers in a very bad league, but Pritchard put up good numbers in a bad PAC-12 league and a bunch of his skills translated to the NBA. So it's possible.

His highlights look good, but so did highlights of high first round picks like Dragan Bender, Frank Ntlikina, Georgios Papagianis, Mario Hezonja and others from overseas. And a lot of those guys played in much better leagues, not all but a lot.

Should be good to get some extended game film on Yam in the Summer League to see what the team has in him. It might be all we see of him next season, as I thought he was pretty much stuck in that Israeli League for one more year.

Can’t say for the other guys, because I don’t remember, but this is not the case for Bender.  Dude had nearly no highlights — he was largely drafted off his measurables and reports from practice sessions.  Kristaps Porzingis made Bender a rich man, because Zinger’s rookie season had everyone looking for the next version of him.

Summer League is typically highly frenetic and disorganized, and dominated by the best athletes. I think there’s a chance for him to look severely out of place. I still think Yam needs to get much stronger and quicker to play in the NBA. Give the kid a couple years to continue developing overseas and see about him then.

What about him makes you question his quickness? His footspeed both laterally and downhill has always looked really good to me.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
