PP and his long Rookie season

Amazing what he accomplished with no summer league and shortened training camp but i noticed a dropoff in his energy levelas the season got long for him..And i think he even mentioned the amount of games and the length of season.Also that knee injury was a first for him..
Also the other teams got to know his moves but there were times his burst or quickness looked diminished.
He was surprising strong where a switch left himon a much bigger wing or small forward.He obviously has a strong core that allows for this.
He was one of the bright spots for me in a dreary season.I wonder what he will take from this season and addto his game..
There were articles about his age and his cieling coming in as complete as he did..
I would love to hear what he took away from this season that he can work on
.Is he going to summer league or is that cancelled, It almost like he had multiple seasons last year.
Obviously chemistry and timing  will be improved and the game will have slowed down.

My only problem with him, is that he seems to have issues when driving into the paint.

See him be forced to pick up the ball in the paint, around the freethrow line, quite often.

Funny thing is, today, during halftime, I chucked on a Payton highlight real from college.

Look at his propensity to drive right.

I wonder if that's how teams are playing him. Forcing him to go left. I could be wrong - he might've fixed that since.

But if it's true, then that's probably a large reason also why Brad didn't play him as much. Think about it. What if everyone on the team has already figured out how to defend him, and the only reason opposing teams haven't bothered TOO much, is because he doesn't play that much.

Or maybe that's why he was taken out the game sometimes? Because he was stopped at the top of the key too often?

Anyway, bit of an assumption-based thought process there, so please, grain of salt.

Loved him though, and am super keen to see him hopefully play a bigger role next season!

Good thoughts, coach.  Makes sense that he hit the 'rookie wall' due to the number of games as well as other teams scouting him.

I really like our own version of 'jason kidd' and I hope he can earn the backup PG spot next season.

i still think he could be at least a solid starting pg for years to come if not better.

he can shoot / handle / plays hard and plays smart

with the right coaching - which, i think was lacking this season - i think he can be good

Ha ha …..when I read this title , I first thought gee somebody has quite the memory to recall Pierces ‘s rookie season.
