Not sure if they're going to sign Fournier, but, if they do there are flexibility issues. Not sure if they'll actually make that 45th pick either, I suppose it depends on the "two way" situation. Will Yam join the team?

Mgt sounds like Smart is staying....not a happy season for Smart with his blistering 33% from 282 three point attempts that opponents happily watched him jack.

If they do trade someone, maybe Horford's arrival lets them move Thompson, who is a good backup center and would leave Moses Brown to backup Horford/Robert. Would mgt do that?

My point here is the team needs three veteran bench players who play in big playoff games whilst our rookies figure it out.

My sense is they're getting a point guard and if they don't, it says something about what these guys are planning for this season.

Smart (replace Smart with a vet PG, then Smart to bench?)
Brown
Tatum
Horford
Robert
BTW that is one excellent lineup, get a good PG and it would be better still.

Playoff bench (would be better with Smart)
Thompson
Parker
Proven veteran winger/pf(?)

Youth movement
Pritchard (66 NBA games - Ducks 140 games)
Langford (61 NBA games - Hoosiers 32 games)
Nesmith (46 NBA games - Vandy 46 games)
Moses ( 28 NBA games - Bruins 32 games)
Contrast - Jaylen Brown has played in 337 NBA games

All of these guys should be summer league at least, maybe some G league as they don't get many minutes.

Might be unpopular but what are peoples thoughts on going after Blake Griffin? Boston was a finalist to sign him after getting bought out. Dysfunction led him to the Nets but while there, he showed he wasn’t totally cooked like his end in Detroit.

He could slide in at the 4/small ball 5. He’s an excellent passer. Don’t think he’ll be too expensive. I know he signed a minimum deal with the Nets but think he’s played himself into a bigger deal than that.

The Celtics need a veteran PG--a real PG--to go with that young core.

Chris Paul did wonders for the Suns. Great pickup.

They have enough up front with Horford, Robert W. and Moses.

Now they need a veteran PG  to get easy shots for Tatum and Brown.

If the c's don't make a fireworks trade I'd like to see some one year deals and be players in the FA class for next year.  It unfortunately makes the c's a middle of the road team.  6 seed at best but if they don't resign Fournier and don't take on any additional salary after next year it opens up a lot of possibilities for the C's.
