I see a player b!tching because he didn't make the All-NBA team. I see a player looking at his individual stats and is angry they weren't good enough to net an award. I don't know if that's a good or a bad thing.

As for Dame. The question asked him was who would you choose to take a last minute shot. He named two guys....Lillard and Kyrie. Does that mean there's fire about Kyrie coming back too?

I see him being authentic and real. He just “lost” $32m from a suspect voting process. He even made the comment loook I make insane amounts of money...

Personally, I think JT is mature for his age. My comment is obviously facetious. It was an off the cuff comment by him about who would get the last shot: but it is kind of timely given the recent news about Dame wanting out and the Celtics trading their starting point guard.

Kyrie and Dame are solid choices.  I wish he’d said “me or Jaylen”, though.  Give your current teammate dap.  But as a candid answer, I can’t fault him.  (I’d go with Durant.)

As for All-NBA…. I don’t blame him.  He just lost a mansion and a fleet of sports cars over arbitrary voting.

The Jaylen part would have been nice. The article mentions they asked him other than himself, but I didn't listen to the podcast so I don't know the exact wording.

He didn't sound angry about it to me. But I did actually listen to the soundbite yesterday. He was asked about how it feels to miss out on $32m and I thought he tried to give an honest answer.

Good luck getting those assist numbers up, Ime.

Celtics star Jayson Tatum has hit a lot of big shots in his career, but who would he choose to take the final shot in a close game if he couldn’t choose himself?

I guess he could have still picked Jaylen Brown based on the question but none of this means anything.  No smoke, no slights, just a very young person trying to answer some questions.

As to the award, that kind of answer is often taken the wrong way, that is why most players avoid that type of answer.  He will probably wish at some point that he had answered differently.  I don't fault him but I hope it puts a chip on his shoulder to prove people wrong.

Because the positional voting system is broken? You're right, he didn't touch on that

LOL. We're as bad as the media spinning a comment and believing it like Tatum said he wants the C's to trade Brown for Dame.  That's what the title should have said because that's what it would take.  The C's need to add around the J's not replace one with a different player.  Getting Dame over Brown doesn't move the needle enough to be a contender it just makes us the Blazers of the East.

Yes Tatum called out Dame but he also called our Kryme.  No news here folks.

As for his answer about All NBA.  He's right.  Why should a hurt Lebron make it because the media loves him.  He'd have made All NBA if he only played 10 games.  (Probably not but making a point here)  Tatum deserved to be on one just like Mitchell did as well.

Nope.  Positional comparison is less important.  Guys who have as much usage as Tatum obviously are going to get some assists along the way.  Yet among the top 15 players in terms of usage percentage (min 2000 minutes), Tatum ranked next to last (tied with Booker) in assists per game.  The only guy worse was Jordan Clark.  Brown, who finished just outside top 15 in usage, obviously needs to pass more too.  This is broadly acknowledged by analysts, not saying anything particularly controversial here.

Tatum still complaining about not making the All-NBA team, perfectly sums up why this team performed so poorly. The team’s top two players are far too concerned about individual awards (All-Star game and All-NBA), and what that means as far as status and their contract. This also leads to them not passing or trusting teammates, because that would take away from scoring opportunities for Tatum and Brown. After all, scoring is a huge factor in determining who makes the All-Star and All-NBA teams.

This is one of the reasons why I would probably trade Brown. I’m not sure if the team can have two young players like Tatum and Brown, that are both fighting for spots on those All-Star and All-NBA teams. Trade Brown for one of those established guys on those teams, who make them by name recognition alone at this point in their careers.
