I hope that Ime gets an offensive coach guru, whether a former HC like DAntoni or an assistant guy who has great credentials.
Terry Stotts. He was widely regarded as one of the finest offensive assistant coaches in the league before he became a head coach. Out of work now after being fired by Portland.

Taking an assistant coaching gig as a temporary one year contract while he looks for another head coaching opportunity would be a good stop-gap option both for him and for the Celtics.

Some news....

Celtics head coach Ime Udoka’s coaching staff is beginning to take shape. A league source confirmed Friday that longtime Spurs assistant Will Hardy will be hired as one of Boston’s top assistants. 7 hours ago – via Boston Globe

Also, longtime Celtics assistant coaches Jamie Young and Jay Larranaga told the Globe that their contracts were not renewed and that they will not return. But a league source said that assistant coach Joe Mazzulla is expected to be retained by Udoka.  via Boston Globe

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I had heard about Will Hardy joining before, good to see it confirmed:

Don't see him not getting a head coaching gig - there are still multiple teams with head coaching vacancies.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

That is a very good idea.

I think he’d take a broadcasting studio gig.  He’s 63 — does he really want to jump into the grind of being an assistant for a year to get another head coaching gig?  It’s not going to add anything to his resume.

“Stoudamire will be great for Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown and most importantly — whoever Boston’s point guard is this season.

Stoudamire connects with players, has a way of being able to be real with them.

Loves to work. Made a ton of $$, but has grinded it in college coaching.”

As I said earlier, will it cause issues that he and Grant Williams' are cousins, more so in the locker room than in the media or fanbase.

Brad caught crap in the media, the fanbase and the lockroom because his previous relationship with Hayward and the perception he favored Gordon.

Doc caught crap, both internally in the Clippers locker room and externally in the media, when he coached his son. Again due to perceived favoritism.

Could this cause friction?

Of course, if they trade Grant, problem solved.

I mean, other than the fact that they are the same height, I don’t see any similarities. Damon was a very good NBA point guard for 10+ season. Edwards doesn’t even belong in the league..

TP. Damon was a hell of a player.

Also, my best friend works in the WCC and says Stoudamire is a standup guy. Damon was very limited in what he had to offer kids to go to Pacific and yet, Stoudamire was able to recruite some real good college level players and won a lot more at such a tiny place like Pacific than he had any right doing.

My friend likes the move. So do I. I think his coaching of Smart and Pritchard should pay good dividends immediately and maybe major ones down the line.
