What I saw was a) Collins shoved Embiid hard while on the ground b) as Embiid was getting up Collins grabbed him around the arms and pulled him towards him to kind of instigate things c) Embiid unnecessarily kept walking Collins backwards for a split second but d) Trae shoved Embiid in the back to force him to continue in the same direction.
So, I’m a bit surprised Embiid got fined and Collins did not.
Well, you saw it wrong.:
a) Embiid landed on Collins' leg HARD, and Collins shoved him trying to get him off it... you know, the dude is quite heavy and showed no hurry in moving.
b) While Embiid was getting up he put his hand on Collins, that's why Collins later has his arm under his... particularly since Embiid kept walking over him (Collins couldn't stand his ground with that massive dude doing that).
c) Yep, but there was no "a split second" about it.
d) It did... maybe, but LOL at Trae doing anything to move Embiid... Embiid was continuing his path whether Trae did or not, he was a mosquito. And that Trae shoved him is a bit questionable, but doesn't make a difference either way.
Not to say whether the decision was wrong or not, but I think what you saw is not what happened at all.
Don’t tell me what I saw and didn’t see. It was a bad offensive foul on Embiid, but he legitimately fell on Collins and, after that, Collins was the instigator by pushing him immediately and with more force than needed
I mean, you have someone of Embiid's size and weight putting all the pressure on your leg, near the knee area... how much force is acceptable? Come on, that's just after falling hard on it and potentially getting hit in the face (on that I don't have a good angle).
The legitimacy of the fall is not really the important aspect of it. I guess if it was unintentional he should be fine with that big dude on top of his leg? Is that the argument?
and immediately tugging on Embiid when they got up.
That's because you're not looking at the appropriate angle I would think. After Embiid got shoved off Collins' leg he went after Collins' shoulder, not sure what he wanted to accomplish since it slipped...THEN after that was occurring Collins hooks his arm under his. Which is really not all that important once things escalated... Embiid was going to walk over him as it was, what do you want him to do?
They both are to blame but other than the dumb offensive foul, that was a part of a basketball move, Collins was the instigator in a passive aggressive Dwyane Wade type way.
Sure, only men that can withstand a 7 footer 280lbs+ landing on your leg allowed. And again, I don't care about who is to blame or not, and whatever, but the point is that you have a big dude who weights a ton falling hard on your leg, staying on top of your leg, you're allowed to shove him off it.
The rest, well, it's theatrics and posturing.
