Care to explain Romeo at PG?
He played fair amount of PG in HS. Also don't think you need a traditional PG in starting lineup. E.g. The Philadelphia 76ers don't have one, really (Seth Curry is not a PG, is he?) I like Romeo starting because I think he is emerging as an elite defender. I also think Smart is better suited coming off the bench. We have several guys who can make their own plays, and I like having a tall starting lineup that is super switchable on defense.
Sixers don't have a true starting PG and it hamstrings them in clutch times when they need to score. Embiid would greatly benefit offensively by having a true PG.
I mean, is Simmons not a "true PG", just a tall one?
I remember when he was first drafted I went back and forth on this with you, with you claiming he was the legit starting PG for them and me saying he was just a point forward. But now I think I was wrong; I think he's a true PG.
I mean, how much different than prime Rondo is he? Both are excellent passers, defenders, and heady players who run a lot of the offense for the team, but are awful shooters/scorers and suspect free throw shooters. The main difference is that Simmons is a bit better defensively given his size, and Rondo was a bit more of a threat to score and less of free throw concern.
