According to Brian Robb of MassLive, Boston may try to take advantage of Kyle Anderson's expiring contract in trade talks this offseason:

"The Celtics have had their eye on Anderson for quite some time according to league sources. With Memphis having plenty of younger talent on the wing, they may opt to simply add some more assets for the 27-year-old wing entering a contract year. Anderson’s improvement as a 3-point shooter last season, along with his passing, would provide the skillset that makes him a nice fit for Boston."

The former UCLA star averaged 12.4 points, 5.7 rebounds and a career-best 3.6 assists per game in 69 starts for Memphis last year.

The 27-year-old is wrapping up a four-year, $37.2 million contract and is set to earn $9.9 million over the 2021-22 season. That accounts for the 24th-highest cap hit by a small forward next season but would give Boston some much-needed length and depth at the position with only Aaron Nesmith listed there on the current roster.

As we should be! Really strong defender, good playmaker and a much improved shooter. Would add heaps of versatility

Personally speaking, I'd love us to go after Slo Mo! Both Tatum and Brown have score-first mentality. We could have a use for SloMo's passing ability at the swing position. Not to mention, he's an underrated team defender. I reckon he'd be a nice fit in our system on both sides of the ball.

You might want to get admin to merge these two if it’s possible.

Interesting. I wonder what Memphis would ask for. A second rounder?

No problem, it’s probably my bad for using his nickname as the topic but you’ve got the poll so it’s different view point regardless.

He’d be a great fit for the rest of the Hayward TPE.

Hey Fournier. We have other options we like at $10m a year. Take it or leave it.

I would be incredibly surprised if they traded him for that little.

Depends if they want cap space.  Trading Anderson gives them an easy path to max room along with the obvious decision of declining Winslow’s option.

He's interesting because he can handle the ball and make plays, but the claim that we need depth there is hard to understand. We have a traffic jam at the 2/3 spot, even if we don't resign Fournier.

We NEED Langford and/or Nesmith to become highly productive, to say nothing of what we do with Smart and Fournier. If we ever get a real power forward, that pushes Jaylen back towards the 2 guard spot. We absolutely would be wasting someone if we signed Anderson.

Kyle Anderson defensively is a 4 and offensively can be a primary ballhandler.  He even played about a quarter of his minutes at center last year.  He’s a different position than Langford and Nesmith — he’d be taking most of his minutes from Grant.  I’m still a Grant fan, but Anderson would be a better option.

I think Anderson plays more swing than wing and would slot in at the 4 next to the J’s.
I wanted Slow Mo out of the draft years ago. Wasn’t surprised Pop snagged him.
Could be a great lower cost addition to the team. Heady point forward type, who can contribute to winning with out dominating the ball.

Getting rid of Grant would be a blessing.  Send them Grant and Carsen and a second rounder for him.  Those guys need a change of scenery and Grant is beloved in TENN.
