I really like Romeo!

Just watched the season highlights below. He got a late start, and took some time to  get comfortable, but by the end of  the season, he really  began to shine.

I expect big things from him next season. Depending on roster moves (Kemba and/or Smart), would not be surprised seeing him in a starting role. 

He looked quite comfortable the last couple of games vs the Nets as a starter.

He plays much longer than his height, witness blocks of Harden, Claxton, Bridges, Hunter, etc.  Brief play-off experience will be a big confidence boost for him.  3 looking a lot better too.

Go Romeo! Stay healthy! Keep working on that 3!

Reports of Romeo’s demise were greatly premature. He’s had plenty of flashes and hopefully he’s past the freak injury stage and gets a full summer and pre-season to get his confidence on offense back.

I'm sorry but I don't see Romeo as anything more than a solid defender.  As a SG on offense he pretty much stunk it up all season, I know he had to deal with injuries.  Let's see, not counting Mo Wagner, Javante Green, and Tacko, Romeo had the worst shooting % on the team for both 2s (35.6%) and 3s (27.8%).  Not unexpected, he also had the worst shooting and scoring effeciencies on the team.  I was hoping for him to be more than a defensive player, but I don't think he's gonna make it on the Cs.  Hope I 'm wrong, but I don't think I am.  I know Brad started him against the Nets, I don't think our new coach will.  If he is still on the team next year, maybe Romeo takes Smarts place as a defensive stopper on the second team.  On the other hand, Crash Nesmith definitely could be a future SG starter on this team.  Move Brown to SF and let the 3s rain.  Crash is bigger than Romeo and probably stronger.

The defense is clearly there. Length and his ability to play on-ball defense are really good, the team d should come. I want to believe in the offense, and I’m still hoping for a big jump after an off-season and training camp, but last season was rough.

Really want to know now, but have to wait and see.

One of the dings Romeo had coming into his pro career was the tendency to take a lot of plays off.  I didn’t see that in May, and I hope one of the bright sides of his injuries and Covid was realizing how he might miss out on his chance, and that flaw he had in college (and a little in Maine from what I remember seeing) has been erased.

Trade Kemba, start Romeo!  (I mostly jest, but I do like him a lot).

Romeo was a top 5 player coming out of HS in Indiana , scored more points than Bird did. He always was a bit lacadasical. he dominated smaller guards and seemed aloof at Indiana. He did better than people think but was demonized to many here in state , had the bad hand and he did run and stand in the corner a lot but IU had a really bad coach . Physically he is almost perfect and smooth which is part of why he looks liek he isnt giving effort. Not sure what next season will bring but a better chance to take than anyone they will be able to get in the draft.

That is a stretch until we see how a fully healed wrist is after 3 years . He isnt going to shoot like Curry but it's not that bad

He’s really not that far.  His shooting is inconsistent, but he can do everything else that’s asked of a player offensively.  He’s got a good handle, can finish at the rim with his length, can pass, set a screen, and even attack the offensive glass.  The NBA isn’t just about standing around and shooting.  That’s really important, but it’s still one skill among many, and Romeo has most of the rest.

Tough to say what his role will be next season with potentially a lot of roster changes forthcoming, but I think if there is minimal turnover, with Fournier leaving and Kemba staying, Romeo is the first guard/wing off the bench.

Last year was a particularly unique moment in league history. THere really was no avenue for a player coming off a long injury like that to get the types of offensive reps needed to get your game back. No significant scrimmaging, no G league. He came in cold and could only take shooting practice or work things out in live NBA games in limited minutes.

Romeo is a very talented offensive player. A summer of working out against live players is all he really needs
