I voted "no" because this has a snowball's chance in heck of happening.

Not to mention a Tatum/Lillard combo is a lot more enticing to other free agents then a brown/Tatum combo.
Man, can you imagine being the 3rd star next to those two? You'd never touch ball. Those two are shot-eaters.

I'm not sure that trade actually elevates Boston into the same range as Brooklyn or Milwaukee and it shrinks the window considerably, so I'm not sure I'd actually do it.

Exactly what I thought.  This is basically going all-in on the next two seasons of basketball in a conference that the Brooklyn Nets just became a force in.  When we're still 3-5 years away from the typical years that would represent Jayson Tatum & Jaylen Brown's peak years.  I'd rather be patient.
I'm hesitant as well.  Lillard is much better than Kemba but not Brown-level better.  Not concerned about Brooklyn but where I do get concerned is
- Lillard being much older than Brown
- Lillard being owed a ridiculous amount of money that will kill the C's cap under this deal as well as his next contract where he's unlikely to agree to a pay cut
- we're struggling with 3 guys that can average 20 a game.  we're really stepping back in that deal to just be down to 2 guys that would average 20 a game.

If we could add Lillard while keeping both of the J's, that's worth a discussion

No. Dames contract is ridiculous, he’s over 30 (going to be 31 in another month) and small guards get exposed in the playoffs, especially if they are your number 1 or 2 option.
Very interesting take after he just dropped 34/10 over a series.

He's also basically the same size as Curry, Kyrie, bigger than Lowry.

However, I'd be wary of any player that is set to earn $50+ million in any seasons. Brown is slated to earn $82.6m for the remainder of his deal - Lillard has $176.3 owed to him over the next four years.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Damien Lillard is an amazing talent.  He's one of the few people in the NBA I'd give up Jaylen Brown for.  So it's a yes for me.

Lillard's supermax contract is probably the only reason why Portland would consider making this deal.

Brown is on a very affordable 25m per year deal and Kemba's deal expires at the end of the next season.  They would get a lot of financial flexibility and a young talent in Brown who's needle is definitely pointing towards perennial all-star.

I didn't vote for the same reason.

I'm a big Jaylen fan and don't want him traded but the trade proposed is a no-brainer for the C's. The Blazers would never do it. They'd be stuck with CJ and Brown in their primes but neither is a #1 guy on a contender and they have no roster around them. Plus they have Kemba and CJ in the backcourt? Never happen.

Boston get:
Damian Lillard, Jusef  Nurkic, Robert Covington, TJ Leaf, Nasir Little

Portland get:
Jaylen Brown, Kemba Walker, Tristan Thompson

Without including Oregon legend Payton Pritchard... no deal

Portland isn't trading Lillard
Good.

lillard is the wrong side of 30 years old. is his defense that good?

brown is on the correct side of 30 by a wide margin and does not have a salary that would choke a horse. plus, better defense by far than lillard

also, lillard's salary is scheduled to be mind-boggling very quickly, meaning POBOBS will have trouble acquiring new talent for 4 years.

No, i would keep Tatum, Brown and Time Lord as our core. The rest of the team can be traded...
