Unlikely... but if Celtics are ready to do a semi blowup of its core. Is this upcoming draft the ticket to do it? It is considered one of the deepest in years
The team will take a step back. But perhaps better equipped to make a real run to the finals two years from now. The current lineup as constructed likely does not have enough to get past the 2nd round. Especially with Walker health issue, not sure what will happen with Smart, TL is never healthy etc.
Having Tatum and Brown is a solid young core. But in todays league standard, that is not enough. So how are you going to surround them with talent?? just wait on yearly draft picks? Celtics are not a FA destination ... Kyrie recent comments made it worse.
A new coach/voice is good. But again, its probably not enough.
Again, I'm not saying go nuclear. Its more like a case study.

Trade proposals
Option 1
To Rockets: Tatum or Brown, Walker (Rockets must eat his contract)
To Celtics: 2021 1st overall pick, 2023-2025 1sts, Christian Wood, John Wall (hold out for trade or keep), Avery Bradley (bought out)
1st pick (from Rockets): Cade Cunningham
This way, Brad gets out of Walker contract. Has future cap flexibility. A cupboard of draft picks he can use for a significant trade when the opportunity arises. Example for Towns
Again, I like both of the Jays. Especially Brown. But with the way the current lineup is constructed, how is it going to be possible to reach the next level??
