Even if he’s the 15th man like Tacko, essentially becomes one of our cheerleaders, such a move signals the end of Ainge and any bad feelings involved with his way of doing business. It’s a great PR move that rebuilds the goodwill we lost when we traded IT (and provides cover if we can somehow get someone to take Kemba off our hands lol)

Are we allowed to remove Tommy points?

So you would take up a full roster spot for a cheerleader?
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

The Heat have had Udonis Hadley on the roster for years in this role.  He played 3 minutes this year and hasn’t cracked 100 minutes in 5 years.  It’s not as crazy as it sounds.

This is mostly because he took less money to help the Heat during the Heatles-era, though.

Not really.  They could have years ago signed him to a 1-2 year deal and then stretched him to give him similar payouts over time.  But they like him on the bench.

There's a difference though. Haslem has been with Miami for 18 seasons, he was a part of their championship teams. He has gravitas with Miami's players in a way that IT won't with Boston's current crop. IT was with us for what, 2 1/2 years? And he's not going to be satisfied sitting the bench the way Haslem is.

If we're going to have a bench cheerleader I'd rather we hire IT as an assistant coach and he can be the cheerleader that way.

One would surmise that the Heat value Haslem's presence in the locker room.  Would the celtics think the same for IT?  Not necessarily.

I mean, he's been with the team for 18 years and they've been signing him to vet min deals since 2016. The situation isn't really comparable to IT, as other posters have pointed out.

Do you think IT wants to be signed to be a towel waver?

I think it's clear at this point that he isn't really an NBA caliber player anymore.

I'd rather him on the bench for the minimum than Carsen Edwards
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)

He could play the same role Eddie House's kid played on the '09 team lol

Invite him to training camp, and let him try and make the team.
