Tristan Thompson (1 yr / $9.7 mil. remaining) keep. We need his toughness and a backup for Timelord.

Romeo Langford (2 yrs / $7 mil. remaining) (keep, like what I saw in the postseason this year. This coming season will be telling)

Grant Williams (2 yrs / $5 mil. remaining) (Trade if a better PF can be acquired. Grant plays hard, but he’s just too small. Not worth his contract. He’s a 3rd string, end of bench talent.

Payton Pritchard (3 yrs / $6 mil. remaining)(keep. Hopefully he will develop into a starting caliber pass first pg.  likely he turn out to be a TJ McConnel type backup)

Rob Williams (1 yr / $3.6 mil. remaining) (keep. He’s one of the most unique/talented big men the C’s have had in the last 20 years)

Semi Ojeleye (UFA)  Vet minimum end of bench or gone.

Carsen Edwards (1 yr + team option / $3 mil. remaining)-useless, Gone.

Jabari Parker (1 yr non-guaranteed / $2.3 remaining)- deserves a chance, has upside and is cheap.

Trade Smart and Thompson. Not necessarily together, but I think both go.

Re-sign Fournier. Think he was proving to be a good third option scorer, and will be a good pressure valve with JT and JB like Hayward was. More reliably efficiency than Kemba or Smart in that role.

Let Kornet and Tacko walk, they offer little to nothing that can't be found in a VetMin or 2nd round pick. Retain Tremont on a minimum deal if we leave Yam overseas, otherwise he walks. Retain Jabari Parker.

Leaves us pretty bare, but I am not as down on some of our assets as others are

Potentially. Zeller is a big $15m expiring, and keeping Monk won't be too expensive. Wouldn't that be funny, a 3rd ex-Celtic taken by Charlotte.

I would wonder about the fit though. Does Fournier want to go to a team that has established starting guards in Rozier and Ball, established starting forwards in Hayward and Washington and a 6th man in Bridges. Think they'll go after a big man first and foremost

The doctors or people who checked out Kemba .....blew it big time .  His deteriorating knee was much worse than he or the Hornets let on.   Danny based his decision on BAD information and what I think was a pile of deceit.     

Hayward got hurt ....that’s one thing

Kemba knee was cooked before he got here .

It looked like a great git at the time ,  but now I ll never be nothing but  Danny ( under pressure because of the Kyrie and AD flop) was hung out to dry ......by Kemba and a group of doctors.

Maybe. Depends on whether Hayward can be their point forward. I think Ball-Rozier-Fournier-Hayward is kind of a fun group with shooting, handling, and passing. But it makes less sense if Hayward is the 3 and Washington is the 4.

We've seen older guards on big contracts have a productive season and then get traded for a handful of role players and a protected pick (Paul to Phoenix, Conley to Utah).  We've seen older guards on big contracts get traded for other older guards on big contracts (Paul for Westbrook; Westbrook for Wall).

An older guard on a big contract traded into another team's cap space?  Can't think of an example like that.

If it contributes to making the team better overall, nobody should be untouchable. Of course, some players carry more trade capital than others.

I would be happy for the handful of role players idea to be honest. It's why I've floated trade packages like that.

I can't think of one either, but New York have a boatload of cap space and the need for a #2/#3 scorer behind Randle... Now I'm just dreaming of a $30+ million TPE.

Like I've said in previous posts, shoring up our bench with actual good veteran bench players (Thad Young, Satoransky, Larry Nance types) is where I see the most improvement coming from our team. I'm very confident in the JT/JB duo under a new coach with a new offence, now we just need to stop relying on 10-12 guys to be our 7-9 guys off the bench.

Biggest problem I see is that unlike Paul last season and Conley a couple years ago, Kemba has not had a consistently healthy or reliable season.  There's not much reason for another team to think that if they trade for Kemba they will be getting a guy who can be a regular part of their rotation if they're looking to have a successful season.

The TT + couple of seconds for Plumlee you and Somebody have proposed is an elite idea. He's a really good 5th starter, in that he plays good defence, is a solid rebounder, elite passer for his position and is efficient when he does shoot.

I'm really not sure what Detroit want to do. They drafted Hayes last year but I'm not sure he's ready to start, and they did have D-Rose at the start of the season. Could be a consideration for sure. Could maybe involve a third team to help out too.

shouldn't need to include a young player.  love Thad but he's coming to the end of his career.  Markkanen hasn't progressed as much as hoped by Chicago which would be the reason they move him.

Why is Thad coming to the end of his career? He's 32 and is arguably coming off the best season in his career. Definitely best defensive and passing season, as well as his most efficient. The way he plays now with good positional defence and really good playmaking should make him age well
