Now that the season is over and the upheaval has begun, let's take stock.

Jayson Tatum (4 yrs / $125 mil. remaining)

Jaylen Brown (3 yrs / $86 mil. remaining)

Kemba Walker (2 yrs / $73 mil. remaining)

Evan Fournier (UFA)

Marcus Smart (1 yr / $14.3 mil. remaining)

Tristan Thompson (1 yr / $9.7 mil. remaining

Romeo Langford (2 yrs / $7 mil. remaining)

Aaron Nesmith (3 yrs / $11 mil. remaining)

Grant Williams (2 yrs / $5 mil. remaining)

Luke Kornet (UFA)

Payton Pritchard (3 yrs / $6 mil. remaining)

Rob Williams (1 yr / $3.6 mil. remaining)

Semi Ojeleye (UFA)

Carsen Edwards (1 yr + team option / $3 mil. remaining)

Jabari Parker (1 yr non-guaranteed / $2.3 remaining)

Tre Waters (RFA)

Tacko Fall (RFA)

My guesses:

Tatum - Not going anywhere

Brown - Not going anywhere

Kemba - They'll shop him till their eyes bleed but not find a good deal.  Stuck with him.

Smart - Offers for Smart alone will be underwhelming. I think ultimately he'll be packaged with a couple other guys. I'm sure Stevens likes Smart but I think a culture reset will begin with moving the Captain.  Gone.

Thompson - Gone.

Fournier - Somebody is going to pay him too much; the Celts can't afford to keep him.  Gone.

Grant Williams - I think he's getting traded.

Aaron Nesmith - Unsure. Has shown promise, but is one of a few players they have with possible trade value.  I would guess he stays.

Romeo Langford - He's still too much of a project. I think they'll include him in a deal and try to bring back somebody with some polish / experience.

Payton Pritchard - I think he stays.

Rob Williams - He's an expiring, has shown flashes, but can't stay healthy. My guess is he ends up getting used in a trade.

Semi Ojeleye - Brad's binky. It feels like he should be gone but will anybody else sign him? I won't be shocked if he's back on a minimum deal.  One more year.

Luke Kornet - They're going to need cheap depth and I think Kornet is exactly the kind of guy Brad loves. Better defensively than he is at putting the ball in the hoop. Low key useful player who can be kept for cheap. Stay.

Carsen Edwards - He's mostly useless but also makes a lot of money for a useless player, so hard to move. I think they'll try to include him in a deal and maybe find a way to throw him in somewhere.  Gone.

Jabari Parker - His non-guaranteed second year is too much for an end of bench player, and he hasn't shown that he's good enough to be more than that.  I'm guessing he's gone, though maybe they waive him and he comes back at the minimum.

Tacko - They're not signing him to a real NBA deal. Gone.

Tre Waters - Like him and I'm sure Brad does too, but I think he's going overseas.

Here's a list of some "affordable" free agents that might be worth considering and available for <$3-5 million.

In some cases I may be underestimating ... especially wings. Those guys always get overpaid.

Bigs

Khem Birch
Dewayne Dedmon
Gorgui Dieng
Alex Len

Wings

David Nwaba
Svi Mykhailiuk
Georges Niang
Sterling Brown
Torrey Craig
Kent Bazemore
E'Twaun Moore

Guards

Raul Neto
Langston Galloway
Brad Wanamaker
TJ McConnell
Garrett Temple

A good big that was actually big and a big lead guard would be what I'd want.

Garrett Temple and Alex Len?  Does that excite you?

nothing exciting here.   would not be surprised if all but one of the TPEs we have go unused.

I would suggest that you ready yourself for a lack of excitement.

Do we still have any of the TPE from Hayward?

a bit, but they are already going to be way into the tax unless they dump some salary .... hard to imagine they'll be looking to add salary without sending matching salary out.

Here's how I view the Celtics roster.

Starters:

PG: _____
SG: Brown
SF: Tatum
PF: _____
C: _____

Bench:

6th man - Kemba, Smart (redundancy)
Back up big - Rob Williams, Thompson (redundancy)
Back up ball-handler - Pritchard
3rd wing / forward - ______
4th wing / forward - Aaron Nesmith

Deep bench:

Langford
Grant Williams
Carsen

Some big gaps.

With Stevens now making the moves, will be extra interesting to see who gets shipped out/doesn't get brought back.

Like When Danny started, no secret he didn't like Antoine, and he shipped him out right away.

So anybody Stevens trades in this first year will make things just a little juicer because it's now Stevens pulling the trigger (regardless if it actually has anything to do with Stevens like/dislike for the player).

If Walker gets traded, "Ohh Stevens must not have ever wanted him.  Stevens actually wanted to keep Rozier!"

If Smart gets traded, "Ohh Stevens probably hated him, his shot selection, and his antics.  Was probably begging Danny to trade him for years.  Locker room cancer!"

If Brown/Tatum gets traded, "So Brad clearly thought that player was a problem.  Must not have liked coaching him.  Uncoachable."

Any of the younger guys that get traded or not re-signed: "That must have been a Danny pick that Stevens was against.  No wonder Stevens didn't play him enough."

After 18 months with their Bigs, the Littles were: 46% less likely to use illegal drugs, 27% less likely to use alcohol, 52% less likely to skip school, 37% less likely to skip a class

I really don't care who gets traded, as long as we get players that have the ability to take us to a title!  Tatum and Jaylen included!
I'm looking for multi skilled players with size(length) and attitude!

Some of the players on my shopping list:

Jarrett Allen------size,length, shot blocking, rebounding
Clint Capela------best combo of shotblocking and rebounding in NBA
Draymond Green-----great passer, defender, and attitude
Lonzo Ball---------pg with size, great passer, and good defender; Pels were looking to trade him this past season
Duncan Robinson/Tyler Hero-------great shooters, move well without the ball
Klay Thompson----------great shooter and defender(if fully recovered)

Would try to keep at least one of Tatum and Jaylen, plus
RW as b/u center
Fournier
Smart
Langford
Nesmith
Pritchard

If I could get one of Allen/Capela
one of Robinson,Thompson/Hero
Draymond
Lonzo

plus the above, I think it's a title contender!   Thoughts????

You're 100% correct that these narratives are going to abound in the coming months as Stevens makes moves to reshape the roster.
