I’d love Billups as head coach with perhaps Cassell as his assistant.

Now that Ainge has moved on I can only hope the Celtics cut their losses with Waters and Edwards. Possibly bringing back Rondo & Isaiah Thomas as their (positional) replacements would be the icing on the cake for me.

Pete Vecsey tweeted that Kidd dropped out of the Portland run because Billups was a “lock” to get that job. Take with a grain of salt.

So because the Mavs lost there are rumblings that Carlisle might be given the pink slip? Wow.

Howard is the best option in my mind. No one thought Stevens was at the time and regardless he did well . Howard to me is the most interesting guy. Played a long time but was never great.............really how many great players have been great Coaches? Bird had his run but usually guys that sat on the bench  for a long time.

I'm not sure I follow your line of thinking. Howard was an All-Star and made an All-NBA team and averaged 30MPG over his 1208 game career. He saw a lot of the court, and without those ankle injuries would have probably made multiple All-Star teams

Jason Kidd has a sub .500 record in almost 400 games as a head coach and our crowd chanted "wife beater" at him with good reason.  He shouldn't be in consideration.  Why was he even given an interview?

If you mean by Portland, I think there's a connection to Lillard

The Mavs haven’t made it past the first round of the playoffs since they won the title in 2011.  That’s a full decade.  It’s surprising he’s lasted this long.

Precisely. That is pretty much my perspective on Kidd. I really don't get the hype or interest in him as a head coach by any team. The Lakers can keep him, he represents their franchise well.

I mean, he pleaded guilty to beating his wife and had to attend anger management classes. He also pleaded guilty to DUI. These are not allegations, these are things he's admitted to.

He also has failed miserably as a head coach in the NBA. Twice.
