At least Game 3 was fun
I just wanted for there to be no sweep, and I got my wish. I just find it funny people are getting worked up losing to a team that is massively out of our league.

I have never understood the concept of the rational fan.
It's pretty easy to understand. You can cheer for your team while have an understanding that you're clearly outmatched.

do you still pay $1000 to go watch em lose...do you pay $20.00 for a beer...wear a jersey with another man’s name on it....lose your voice cheering when you know you are outmatched? Is that rational?

Wasn't it you who said that fans aren't rational, that's why they are fans

I think it’s just the frustration with the fact that Danny blew golden opportunities to build a contender while letting a new super team in Brooklyn form after the Warriors.

Rationally yes taking one game from this team is a win, but fans are rightfully frustrated. Not to mention when you have the guy that basically destroyed the rebuild in Kyrie going off it just makes it worse.

Finally Brad plays Nesmith. Day late and a dollar short.

Nets have two MVPs and another All-NBAer.

We’re missing three starters.

And yet people fault coaching?

What's the reason for playoff losses the last several years?

This would've been a hard series for any coach, so I canaybit all at his feet.. However  this team has under performed imo the last few years and a lot is due to him not making his guys playground ball.
Back to wanting Joe fired.

Danny has a lot of work to do this off season. How many roster spots are wasted on this team? Edwards, Waters and Fall don’t even belong in the NBA. Grant Williams, Langford, Semi and Kornet, Nesmith are average players at best who should make up the bottom half of your roster. Kemba is already a shell of himself and you can’t seemed on him. Time lord has potential but he basically useless since can’t stay on the court. Prichard, decent bench player right now but again further down the bench.
That’s leaves them with just Brown and Tatum.
If Ainge doesn’t get his act together Tatum will be leaving when his contract is up.

Ainge should be hearing from Tatum’s agent. If he doesn’t he should be very very worried.
Tatum's contract isn't up until the 2026/27 season so Danny ain't worrying.

Is there a way to get Beal to join Tatum + Brown and keeping Timelord too lol? That might be the only way we can legitimately contend next season.
He would have to demand it, but it would probably be Kemba + 4 1st round picks + Langford/Nesmith

And you would do that in a millisecond. Time to stop overvaluing picks that become GWill and Carson.

Just throwing crap against the wall.

When you’re missing three starters and our bench blows, isn’t that all a coach can do?

It’s what this coach does

It’s what any coach would do.

He’s got one star player, two good players playing below their level (Smart, Fournier) and a whole lot of garbage.

Red himself couldn’t make this game competitive, even if Pops and Phil Jackson were assisting.
I think you're being too result-focused, whereas the critics are being process-focused.

Nobody expects this game to be that close. But it was competitive up until Brad put in a terrible lineup and was too slow to change it. It's something that he's struggled with for years, and it bothers me to see it continue to plague him.

The result is irrelevant really. It's making the same mistakes he made in the regular season, and in the last playoffs, and in the regular season prior to that.

People are faulting both. We're riddled by injury and yet Brad is still reverting to people who shouldn't play (Semi) over those who should (Nesmith).

We're also seeing Nash make good changes in reaction to what we succeed with, while Brad makes no changes to what Brooklyn succeeds with.

Brooklyn succeeds with having elite talent that can improvise.  They’re one of the hardest teams to guard in recent history.  We don’t have the personnel to play elite offense or elite defense.
That's not the point I was making. The Brooklyn defence adjusted to essentially triple-teaming Tatum on the catch, and Brad left non-shooters like Langford out there when he was doing nothing on either end. I don't expect them to win, the talent disparity is too great, but I do expect the coach to actually show up. It was inexcusable to play the lineup he did in the early 2nd quarter, and that's when the gap went from 3 points to double-digits in a blink.

Stevens routinely displays an inability to manage lineups or stagger his star players well, and is always too slow to react to runs. I'm pretty firmly done with him

Your ability to somehow make every shortcoming Brad's fault is obsessive to the point of being pathological. Makes me wonder if there's something more to this with you.
You're right, Brad slept with my girlfriend and bullied me in school  :'(

I don't particularly care what Scottiej23 on a fan forum thinks is wrong with me. I do care about garbage coaching, which is what we've seen tonight.

You sound as if you don't really know your ass from your elbow when it comes to basketball, difficult to imagine you ever having a girlfriend, but your meltdowns every game and complete lack of rational insight continue to provide immense enjoyment.

Turns out, when you're down your number 2 option, your number 3 option, and your starting 5, and you play vs the team that's got 3 of the possibly top 10 individual talents in the league, you will struggle.

Who'da thunk hey!

well, at least Nesmith hit a 3.  maybe it'll get him untracked for the next game

If Brad plays him.

To an extent, sure.

But that doesn't mean throwing out there a lineup with no Tatum, Smart, or TT. That's inexcusable. Tatum should've had the understanding that he's playing all night tonight, unless in foul trouble. As soon as he put that lineup in, they went on their run and made it their game to lose, even with KD and Kyrie on the bench.
i really dont think it mattered tonight. the "good shooting" marcus did not appear twice in row. nor did the "i can play offense" TT. minus kimba. minus TL. and already minus Brown.

I had hoped for a closer game, but poor shooting as usual hurt them in addition to the MIA team.

if the Nets run was not then, it would have happened some other time.

Celtics were simply out-talented tonight and they did not bring their "unusually good" games ala last time.

Im not sure we find someone dumb enough to take Kemba.

That is my point. RP wants fans to be rational..there is nothing rational about grown men cheering for a sport’s team.
I'll cheer for my team regardless what I think will be the final outcome. I just won't get mad when they don't pull off  against far better teams.

This isn't really a novel concept.

Yeah, I think so too. Even if we can flip them for proven role players I would do that. Seeing Ojeleye, Langford and G-Will relied upon this heavily is not too flash
