Nets gave up a lot more than draft picks for Harden....Allen and Levert both of whom would be great in green

Besides rebuilding the horrible Celtic's bench...capture the basketball DNA of Luka Doncic's brain and inject it into that of Tatum and Brown.

Observe other NBA playoff teams...watch the ball whipping around the perimeter searching-out an open man.

Then watch the Celtic methodically advance the ball looking for an isolation opportunity.

So you are saying this team needs an actual point guard that can get teammates involved and run the offense vs starting a 6’ shooting guard and a combo guard in Smart that can pass well when he wants to, but would rather shoot.

I'm saying our offense is totally predictable. Every color commentator I've heard this season doing a National broadcast says the exact same thing about the Celtics. "They have poor ball movement and too much ISO."

We need a veteran point guard with enough gravitas to put an end to this. This team lacks a mature professional chemistry, just look and see what CP13 did in Phoenix.

An injury-prone inefficient scoring guard and an athletic rim-runner aren't A-grade or even B-grade prospects though

Well, guess we now know why Austin Rivers wasn’t brought in....

"I sat there for like a month and a half, waiting on the phone to ring. I just put my faith in God, having conversations with myself, talking to God like, 'What's the plan? What's going to happen?'" Rivers said. "All the feedback I kept getting is, a lot of teams liked me but they didn't know what type of character I was and how I'd be in their locker room. My basketball ability was never questioned; it was who I was as a person. Which is actually even worse.

"Truthfully, it broke my heart. Because I know who I am, and I've always had good relationships with people, but you can have one instance with mistakes and be labeled something."

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I think Allen is at least a B- prospect (way better prospect or value than Robert Williams as an example) and LeVert certainly has that talent, but man is he injury prone.  They also gave up Prince (C) and Kurucs (D) along with the 3 1st's and 3 swaps.

considering Timelord's break out this season, I can't see how Allen rates as a better prospect.  Timelord's got his health issues but in terms of impact on the game, TL has shown he can make a significant impact that dramatically improves how the team performs when he's on the court.  Allen has looked like a solid player but not with the same impact on the game.

Their advanced metrics are fairly close (Williams is a bit better), but Allen doesn't miss games and is actually younger.  Availability is often the best ability and in that it is no contest.  Allen stays healthy and can play a full game, Williams cannot.  I mean Allen played more minutes this season than Williams has played in his entire 3 year career by over 200 minutes.  I mean it is just staggering how unhealthy Williams has actually been.

What incident was he referring to?

Perhaps this one, where Chris Paul sought him out after a game (but it sounds like it was more than one incident, and Rivers' characterization of "one instance" is indicative of his problem.)

  • Peace it's a board. We all will never agree.
To  me the main decision that needs to be made is for this Ownership group to commit to paying the luxury tax.
If they do not want to we will not win a championship. If they do bring back  Fournier close to his present salary.
I think a offseason of work by our youth and a older vets added we can make the ECF with the Top 5 we have now. IMO. If we do not go over the cap. The Nets, Bucks and Knicks will. Toronto will go over too. Or we can be stupid like indy and be 7th or 8th.
"People look at players, watch them dribble between their legs and they say, 'There's a superstar.'  Well John Havlicek is a superstar, and most of the others are figments of writers' imagination."

Trouble is for us, is that so many of the guys are on roster who we would like to trade have zero value league wide.  The Nets hit on a lot of their picks and we are left the 2019 disaster here.

One of the most important factors in signing buyout vets at the end of the year is being in contention by the time the Buyouts happen. We have to be at least top three in the East by the time that happens.

I'm confused by what you mean. Of the players on the Nets roster they only drafted Claxton. The rest have been trades or free agents

Three guys who couldn't compete on their teams because they lacked an alpha mentality forced their way to Brooklyn to play together isn't an executive of the year move.

I meant it will be hard to improve the team with the talent we have to offer.  People want Brown, Tatum, Timelord and perhaps Smart.   Other teams would not want the rest of our roster and it will be hard to make off season acquisitions given our cupboard is bare.
