The offense was really bad. Nets pushed us to uncomfortable spots and we just wilted under their physicality.

Also, doesn’t it seem like a bunch of times, the offense was designed to create a catch, rather than a shot? Like the offense would run and once Tatum or Kemba or Fournier caught the ball, it stops like “yup! That’s pretty much all we were trying to do”.

I'm not too mad actually. Nets are just good and despite all that we were with them for much of it.

But yeah, U-G-L-Y 2nd half on offense from the C's

Pritchard gets 6 minutes while Kemba shoots 3 for 14.

He was getting cooked by Kyrie and Harden defensively
It's so obvious to anyone actually watching the game.

It's obvious to anyone who understands the game that Kemba is killing us - along with Tatum's never-ending iso. I do give credit to Tatum for his defensive effort - he is a tired player right now.

Agreed

And nobody on the Celts able to breakdown the D and score some tough ones around the net in the 2nd half.  Then mix in passes out to Tatum etc.

Nets D just "sat"... too easy

Smart shooting watch: 6-13 FGA, 3-8 3PA.

Fittingly, the Cs lost the game.

For those who always question this "unique" win loss indicator, i would tell you that Smart played well in the 1st half with 3-6  FGA and the Cs leading by 6.

Then he had  around 8 minutes starting the 3rd quarter when he went gung ho, chucking quick thres and went 0-4. That's when the lead quickly evaporated, the Cs were losing and he was a big part of it.

Then, of course, like what he always does, he started making the next 3 shots, keeping us in the game for some time.

He hasn't taken any shots since then, and the Cs eventually lost the game.

So are we seeing the guy who burned the house or the guy who tried to help the girl upstair (unsuccesfully)?

Your analytics is junk science if you think this loss was on smart.

Numbers don't lie, my friend. Don't be mad.

Way to avoid answering his point. Pritchard is getting killed, at that point it's better to play your vet and hope for the best.

Do you just watch for my posts so you can make some smart-ass comment ?

Some people would rather parrot their usual narrative against the players they hate than give credit where credit is due. When you can give credit to a player you dislike then you know you're not biased. Smart took some terrible shots in the 3rd but he made some big ones towards the end of the quarter as well. We were in the game until we turned the ball over 3 times in a 2 minute span in the 4th quarter.

The numbers in and of themselves are true, but you're a fool if you think they mean anything like what you are saying.

Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart will be on different NBA teams next season.

That's my prediction.

Good night

If we can find a new home for Kemba in the offseason that would be good enough for me.

Yeah, love Kemba as a person, but he's not holding his weight at this point. Will give him the rest of the series to redeem himself, but I think we should be looking to move him if he continues to put up an egg the rest of the series. I'd like to see a more two-way player who is less of a score-first point guard as our starting point guard - a Conley or Lowry type. That kind of player would pair well with the J's and rest of the team.

Smart is the interesting one. He's still a very valuable piece, as shown tonight, but I the contract situation is the issue. He's also a good-sized contract to bring back an upgrade. I think his fate ultimately depends upon what we do with Kemba.

14-46 from our three best offensive players.  That was the ballgame.

Williams played his ass off.  Nothing but love.  Smart left everything out there too, and Parker gave us a boost.

I wanted this series for Tatum.  He's getting a good, up-close look at Durant so he can see exactly what he has to do to lead a championship team.

We'll need more from Kemba and Fournier.  Bad games happen, but if it turns into a bad series then we're going fishing after three more games.

Regroup, put Rob in an ice bath, watch some tape, and get them on Tuesday.

Only reason I'm upset is the favouritism the Nets are getting.

From the refs. From the announcers. From everyone.

At the half, "Nets" was trending on Twitter.

Not Celtics. Who were up at the half. But Nets.

Blergh.

Honestly feel the better team won. But we gave 'm a run for their money.

The return to iso-ball was yuck. Everybody in the stadium knew we’d be force-feeding Tatum.

Well, subpar game from Tatum and poor games from Kemba and Fournier and it was competitive down to the end.

Now Brad has to adjust and get Tatum and Kemba better looks for the next game.

Honestly, what IS Fournier's role exactly? I feel like he doesn't know either lol.

Fournier not aggressive enough

This. He needs to assert himself much more.

Doris Burke has always excessively pumped up the favorite.  It's nice when you're the favorite and nearly intolerable if you're not, lol.

Not mad..your numbers may speak to a point that even you do not yet perceive BUT it is not that Smart cost the Cs this game.

Proud of our guys despite the loss. They played super hard. Tatum has really improved taking it to the hoop. Kemba just couldn’t get it going. He will next game.

Rob was incredible. Toe seemed fine. What a gamer. Nets were afraid to go inside when he was in game. They really felt his presence even when he wasn’t blocking shots.

Too bad Jaylen wasn’t there. I think he could have made a difference especially defending Durant who just killed us.
