Without Embiid playing at his best for full starter minutes, I think the Sixers are toast.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

Embiid suffered a lateral meniscus tear in his right knee... He's not coming back this year....
It's day to day per woj.

A meniscus tear is very serious. I can't see him playing near 100% if he can even play.

A friend and I were just talking about this. Even if the injury is day to day, what does that mean for embiid going forward? 90% productivity? 75%? This team can't make a push without Embiid being outlandish.

Yeah even if Embiid is doing the old KG thing of playing a 6 minute stint in each quarter, I don't think the Sixers can be good enough.

The Bucks and Nets are too good.

I'll be surprised if he can play. A torn meniscus is a 7'2" 280 pound man is major.

But each could lose two games to the pesky energetic Hawks...

Hawks still have to get past the 76ers which is no easy task. Plus they need to finish their series with the Knicks...they can always come back up from 3-1 which has been a common theme in the playoffs nowadays.

But...
If Nets win, they are sweeping the Hawks.
If Bucks win, they are beating the Hawks in 5.

Celtics should've just lost that first play-in game and win the second one to draw the 76ers. They might have been able to pull the upset and also beat NYK/ATL to get back to the ECF again to get swept lol

You can generally play through a meniscus tear, but it can make it worse and Embiid doesn't seem to like playing through pain.

Very interesting news

Very interesting news

It really depends on the player. Embiid is massive and gets a ton of physical contact. I'll be surprise if he plays and if he does, how effective will he be?

Yeah, plus it depends on whether Philly think they can beat the Wizards without him too
