So far in the DAL/LAC series, the road team has won. I think Clippers win Game 6

...and win Game 7.

Not if Dallas can petition to play game 6 in LA.
If the Clips lose to the Mavs in the 1st round, what are they going to do?  They ran off Doc after last year's playoffs.  Who are they going to blame now?  George is signed for several more years but Kawhi is going to be a free agent.

Could definitely see Kawhi bouncing. Maybe he goes to the Warriors on a sign and trade for Wiggins.

The Warriors are subject to the hard cap with a sign and trade.  Steph, Klay, and Draymond make a combined $97 million.  There’s no way for them to get Kawhi on a max and stay under the hard cap, even if they fill out the rest of the roster with minimum contracts.

I can see Kawhi leaving the Clippers but I can't see him going to Golden State. Seems like the type of dude that wants to find his own path and go in a different direction.

* Maybe the Heat. Play with Jimmy and Bam.
* Maybe the Knicks. Bring them back to Contender status.
* I wonder if Kawhi would take a sign and trade to Portland for CJ McCollum to play with Lillard.
* The Bulls could be sneaky attractive. Trade Markkanen for a vet. Maybe some of their other youth. Kawhi, LaVine, Vucevic and for whatever star vet they can nab. That is a sneaky attractive proposition.

I have a hard time seeing him go to play Doncic or Jokic. Those guys are too established. Kawhi would have to take a backseat. I expect him to go somewhere where he is the man. No questions, no debate. It's him. He is the guy. Just my hunch on him.

Are there still those who wished we had Russell Westbrook for this playoff run?

Averaged: 19PPG, 11.8APG. 10.4RPG, 0.4SPG, 0.2BPG, 4.2 turnovers per game, 3.4 fouls per game, 33% from the field, 25% from three, 79% from the FT line on 8.6 attempts per game. One game where he shot 50% or higher and two games at 41% or better.

I still am genuinely dumbfounded some people bought in so hard to the narrative that he was a player conducive to winning

Kemba averaged in these playoffs: 12.7 ppg, 4.0 apg, 4.0 rpg, 2.7 turnovers per game. Never played in back-to-backs during the regular season, in hopes of preserving him for the playoffs. Then he ends up missing the last two games of the playoffs because of a boo-boo.

I will take Westbrook every single day of the week over Kemba, and it's not even close. He is an old school type of player that is not on the court to make friends. Kemba, on the other hand, is looking to make play dates in between plays.
All to make it just as far as we did! What a star!

What other old school players prioritised their box scores over winning? Struggle to think of any like Westbrook.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Kawhi has a player option. Could he opt in and then be traded for Wiggins? Salaries are close enough.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Too bad Portland just refuses to play D. Porter Jr with 17 halfway through the first quarter...

At least he played.  The Celtics had no threats outside of Tatum.  We need people that the defense will key in on to free up Tatum and the shooters that we hope to have someday.  By virtue of Westbrook playing, I would rather have him than Kemba.

What is with Celticsblog hatred for Kemba? I don't think even Westbrook would've made a difference and would be a worse fit for Tatum and Brown.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism

It’s bizarre. Kemba actually played well this season and it’s not like we had any chance once Jaylen went down. Kemba is one of the most likable players in the NBA and one of my favorite Celtics. How soon we forget how f-d we were once Kyrie and Horford split town. So he makes a little too much money - oh well - people need to chill.

Wow, Denver is shooting 57.4% from the field, 48.4% from 3 with half their FGAs coming from downtown and 88.9% from the FT line with a ratio of almost a third of their FTA/FGAs coming from the foul line.

How in the world are they only up 1 point? 101-100.

Rivers would've been a good pickup.

and that’s why you don’t want your 2 best offensive players to be 6’2” guards... Denver just has too much size.
