I want to see them win every game as always.  come hell or high water you take your best shot any chance you get

Exactly.  I started watching the NBA in the early 90s.  Playoff opportunities are never guaranteed, and I want us to win as much as we can.

Win Tuesday, play the Nets. Force Kyrie to play in front of Celtics fans in Boston again.

One thing I don’t like about the play in the tournament is that the two best teams have to play each other in the first game, and wear each other down.

If anything, have the seven play the 10 and the eight play the nine.  If the home team wins, series over.  If they lose, you play game two against the same opponent, and the winner advances.

I think that's an improvement.  I'd go an extra step and add that if the 9 and 10 seeds advance, they advance as the 7 and 8 seeds respectively, not as the 10 jumping to the 7 spot even though they beat the 7 seed.  have some regard for regular season standings.

New reason I want Celtics to win the first game, DC sports radio hosts looking past the Celtics planning the series against the Nets.  They called the Celtics game a lock.

Sounds like DC sports radio is as stupid as Boston sports radio (which is as stupid as Philly sports radio, NY sports radio, and probably Chicago sports radio.  Do people in California even tune into sports radio?  If so, it's probably pretty stupid out there, too.)

Can someone explain to me why people would prefer playing the Nets first round? They destroyed the C’s in the regular season and They didn’t even have their 3 stars together for any of those games.. Getting stomped by Kyrie, KD and Harden sounds pretty terrible to me. Give me the 76ers all day..

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

They've been playing better than the Celtics for weeks and have two of the best three players that will be on the court.

It's not unreasonable for them to view the Wiz as a strong favorite in that game.

Ha, I think playoffs Westbrook may be the worst player on the court.

In a single game you just don't know.

Are they getting the Westbrook who has averaged 26.3 pts, 13.8 reb, 16.1 ast on 55.2% TS in the month of May? (9 game sample)

Or are they getting the <40% from the field, can't-hit-a-three-to-save-his-life Westbrook we usually see over the course of a playoff series?

and that is the key.  a single game is a much different animal than a series.

A favorite, sure.

Basically saying it is so much of a sure thing that it is time to discuss matchups with the Nets, annoying to the point I want them to have spin their statements if they lose.

How many people are doing that with the Celtics, though?

Talking about which 1st round matchup they should prefer, as though just straight up losing against the Wiz, or even dropping the second game against the Pacers/Hornets, are not plausible options.

I feel like people around here are looking past the play-in at least as much.  You can easily argue the Celts have less reason to be optimistic about winning either play-in game than the Wiz do.

have to agree, particularly about the Wiz having more reason for optimism.

C's have been so inconsistent I could see them on either end of a blowout Tuesday.  If they lose against the Wiz, they could just as easily lose the game against Char/Indy too.
