It seems like Tatum is out for any all NBA team. He's eligible as a guard or forward but even with ten spots available to him, he's not getting in over any of Curry, Giannis, Doncic, Lillard, CP3, Kawhi, Zion, or Butler. And he's probably not getting in over Beal, Randle, Simmons or Lebron.

I was really rooting for him to make it all year and thought he had earned a place but with the way to season has ended... I'm glad it looks like he's not going to make it. Anything that might light a fire under these guys to come out and compete next year seems necessary.

12 spots.  6 guards (no way), 6 forwards (possibly)

Yep. My bad.

I still don't think he winds up on the team over the 12 guys I listed, especially after the way the C's ended the season.

Can someone remind me of the salary cap imprecations of Tatum making all NBA this season vs not. I recall hearing he'd get a bigger salary having made a couple all NBA teams.

25% of cap with no team, 30% of cap with team.

As I've said in other threads anyone that votes for Tatum as a guard should have their voting privileges revoked.  That said, I believe Tatum makes the 3rd Team as a forward.

Simmons? He is down in every statistical category from last year and played 58 games... what are people's obsession with this guy? He is a very good player and great defensively but for this season he is not in the league of Jokic, Embid, Curry, Lillard, Doncic, Giannis, Randle, Lebron, Davis, Paul, Booker, Kawhi, Butler, Beal, Westbrook, Tatum, Zion etc...

Simmons will probably win DPOY this year.  Certainly will finish in top 3 with Gobert and Draymond.  That is why I have him on my 3rd Team All NBA.

My ballot from a few days ago (nothing has changed).  I don't think this is necessarily what will happen, just how I'd vote if I had a ballot.

1st - Joker, Giannis, Zion, Luka, Lillard
2nd - Embiid, Kawhi, Lebron, Paul, Curry
3rd - Gobert, Tatum, Randle, Simmons, Beal

Missed too many games - Davis, Durant, Harden

MVP ballot - Joker, Giannis, Randle, Paul
DPOY ballot - Simmons, Draymond, Gobert, Turner
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

Lebron and Harden have both only played in 43 games this season.  Durant 33, Davis 34.

Jackie MacMullan, who has vote for All NBA Teams, and has spoken to a number of others who vote, says there is no way that Tatum makes any of the 3 teams. This on Simmons' podcast last Thursday.  Says that voters take into account the relatively poor record of the Celtics.  It will cost him.

This should pretty obvious at this point. We are solidly in the 7th position. I guess Beal might make it with a worse record, but he is leading the league in points and his team didn't have near the expectations that the Cs did...and the Cs greatly failed in the regard.

I love Tatum and think he can still absolutely grow as a player. It also sucks for him that he had a pretty serious case of Covid during his big prove-it contract year and that the team had so many in-and-out injuries, but I just think even guys like Paul George and Jimmy Butler should probably make it over him. Forwards: Giannis, Kawhi, Lebron, Randle, Zion, and of course Embiid (I know, but this was instituted so he can make 1st Team). AD and Durant would have obviously made it over him, too, if they weren't injured.

forward is much weaker than guard and Lebron is better than Harden, which is why Lebron's missed games didn't keep him off the list.

1st
Jokic
Giannis
Kawhi
Doncic
Curry

2nd
Embiid
Randle
Butler
Paul
Lillard

3rd
Gobert
Adebayo/Lebron/George/Tatum
Zion
Kyrie
D. Mitchell/Beal/Young/Harden/Booker

The last 3rd team guard will be the most contested spot in years. I think D. Mitchell is one of the best and most underappreciated players in the league and he'd be on my ballot, but I think Beal takes it. The positional versatility will give the edge to Adebayo.

Availability will have the perennial All NBA players missing it altogether, and Harden and Lebron missing close to 60% will put them on the edge for the majority of voters.

I'm just going to keep saying this ... this is really, really stupid.
