Thompson with 3 rebs none Offensive, 2 points and couldn't defend anyone and played 28 minutes. It seems like Parker could've played much better than that or Kornet or Tacko or Tatum at the 5.

Kemba had 7 rebounds....
I think u are on to something..."Tatum at the 5." Due to injuries got to look to change things up.

I just don't understand why Brad kept Thompson in for almost the whole 3rd quarter when he was soooooo Bad. Kornet would've been better, Tacko would've been better. Brad goes with what should work but can't seem to just in real-time. Thompson was the worse player on the floor tonight and yes I know Carsen Edwards stunk.

Maybe it was so that Brad could erase all doubt in his mind that having Thompson in the bubble would have helped them beat Miami and get to the Finals. Reportedly Ainge's plan before the covid shutdown was to pick up Thompson as a buy out in time for last year's playoffs, but the shut down prevented any chance of that. Then we got killed inside by Bam and the Heat during the EFCs while everyone was wishing we had a real defensive center.

I think after 3 games against Miami now, it's pretty clear that Bam owns Thompson.

Makes more sense than anything else!

Our poor defense has been the glaring issue all year long. I'm sure part of it is from lack of practice and experience, part is from lack of effective big men outside of Rob Williams, but a big part of it is effort, and it's gotten worse as the season progresses instead of better. It's not Brad's system. That defensive system was a top tier defense for several years before this year.

Honestly I don’t think any center on our team can guard Adebayo. I think even Timelord would have had issues ans been forced to foul. He’s too quick off the dribble for Kornet and Tacko and too big for GWill. I get the feeling of wanting to try something, anything but those guys would have been sonned just as Kardashian was being sonned. Our best defender at the 5 was Theis and Bam punked him last year.

Maybe people caught on to The System. They can just keep getting switches until they have a mismatch and bingo.

Bam is a challenge, but what killed us tonight was our lack of defense on Duncan Robinson, Kendrick Nunn, Goran Dragic and Tyler Herro.

I think it's more like our players aren't running the system. They are behind on rotations and often just totally blowing assignments. They aren't pressuring the ball at all anymore either.

Also, no defensive scheme is going to work when you have both Kemba and Edwards out there, along with guys like Grant Williams as your big.

There was a complete lack of ball pressure all over the court but Bam had a free pass against Thompson.

Yep. The defense was awful all the way around

Brad had a game plan in the first half but didn't seem to have one in the second.
