Change the starting line up to Smart, Nesmith, Fournier, Tatum and TIMELORD! Bring Kemba off the bench. Kemba needs to be scoring on every play of his a liability. Anyone but Brad can see this.

Happy Mother's Day!

Jaylen?

Jaylen for Nesmith when he's back! Kemba on the bench. With Fourier starting we don't need scoring as much in the starting line up we need defense. We scored enough points to win this but that first half with the heat just going at Kemba was the game.

Aaron Nesmith is such a baller.

Celtics will probably have to package Jaylen Brown to get someone like Towns. Nesmith's development makes that idea seem less painful.

I like Nesmith's progress, but how many games has he been putting up good numbers?  10-12?  maybe 15?
That doesn't make Jaylen more trade-able.

Tatum makes Jaylen more trade-able. Nesmiths just a nice piece to the puzzle. Develop that talent all day. Same with Pritchard.

dude you completely lost me there....so since we have one all-star, we should trade the other one? lol
omg

You don’t have to trade anyone. Especially when you hit with players like Tatum & Brown.

But you definitely can move Jaylen for someone who fits better around Tatum’s game. That’s the puzzle you have to figure out in any trade. If there isn’t something out there you obviously just roll with the Brown /Tatum combo.

It might be Smart that is moved. I’d personally see what either could bring back.

Kemba, Smart, Fournier, Pritchard, Nesmith, Brown, Tatum, Thompson, R. Williams.....pretty good nucleus to build around for your championship team. There is more work to be done but it’s a solid group with youth everywhere.

Shout out to Evan Fournier. 30pts, team high 8 assists, 11-16 from the field 7-11 from 3pt. I know it’s not going to happen, but the C’s would be so much better off with a Smart, Fournier, Brown, Tatum, Timelord starting lineup. Kemba as a 6th man so other teams can’t exploit him as much defensively.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

that would be nice. up until now i don't think it was possible because fournier was recovering from COVID-19. maybe that changes for the playoff run.

But obviously that nucleus isn't working this year. Several players need to go. Coaches need to go too.

watched on tape delay.  today's hot takes

- The only Celtic that has consistently come out aggressive on offense this season has been Jaylen.  Jayson rarely ever starts out aggressive on offense (or defense).  Until Jayson changes his approach to the game and comes out with effort from the get-go, this team will have major problems against good teams when Jaylen is out or cold
- C's need to change their offensive philosophy.  this "live by the 3, die by the 3" mentality has been killing them this season and has been their downfall in prior years in the playoffs when they run cold.  they need to come up with offense that can manufacture points when they can't hit from outside.
- Defense was a sieve in the first half.
- C's passing and ballhandling is still bad.  so many passes off the mark.  they must lead the league in getting stripped with ball.

the one in which the celtics go to the finals and then everyone here reflects upon their earlier posts and reconsiders their assumption. then, after careful consideration and research, all the CS posters realize that CBS is a great coach and no trades were ever necessary.

that playoff run.  ;D

Too bad the C’s only chose to play hard for one quarter... Some of the substitutions Brad made were just baffling too. I’m also curious how many of Miami’s points were scored against Kemba. Spoelstra always wins that coaching matchup. Heat are the 4th best team in the East.

Kemba played a mind-numbing 40 minutes in this crap fest. Nesmith played half the minutes and got the same stat line minus the 4 turnovers! How can that not be on the coach?

as of May 9th, the celtics averaged 14.2 turnovers a game, which is 17th in the nba. so, middle of the pack.

Middle of the pack is the play in-game, which is where we are.

Felt like another playoff game vs Heat last year in bubble.

Heat played with purpose.

We couldn’t defend Butler. Scored at will.

Losing Rob real setback.

Would like more Nesmith next game. Also I’d put Romeo on Butler. Can’t do worse.

Seems we are destined to be in the play in. Focus should be on getting healthy. Shame we can’t get the rest.

Tough we season.
