A 32 point comeback.

And Jayson Tatum puts up 60 points to tie Larry Bird's franchise record for points in a game.

And yes, he is just 23 years old and nowhere near his prime.

The #3 pick from the 2017 draft looking like a very, very excellent selection.

Where you at Markelle Fultz, Lonzo Ball, and Josh Jackson  ;D

Tatum got screwed out of holding the record outright.  That was clearly continuation.

But, it’s pretty cool to see him tied with Larry.

Just another crap call in a very, very long line of crap calls by that incompetent trio of refs tonight.

Still, that was one of the most amazing comebacks I have ever seen in my 45+ years of watching this team. Maybe Game 4 of the 2008 Finals was more meaningful, but this was special

Game 4 was something but the one I thought was more impressive was the playoff comeback against the Nets.  it just was unheard of at the time.

I can't give you a TP for this excellent recollection(30 minute rule), but you'll get one in the A.M. Another great comeback.

That was the last time I gave up on watching a game and went back to bed.

All good. This one may eclipse the 26 point come back against Houston. This was a larger comeback, yes.

But the final 2 minutes of that win against houston was best. Watching smart own harden was delicious.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

How many here now believe Tatum could be a league MVP one day?

I have since those 2018 playoffs

I believe but only this year, when I saw his willingness to move the ball. I thought before: elite scorer, knock down shooter, two way player... but PG13, Butler and other stars haven’t won MVP. So maybe All NBA at best? Surefire perennial all star though. It’s now I think MVP will be in the cards.

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a scorer like him on the Celtics. I know the game has changed a lot, but he may even be a more gifted scorer than Pierce. 60 at his age is pretty crazy, OT or not.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
It was an incredible game by the whole team in the 2nd half. The only reason we weren't down by 50 was because Tatum was hot from the start and that gave us the sliver of a chance we needed to come back.

I am happy Tatum didn't outright take the record, though. Honestly, he should have only had 51 or 52 since he missed two opportunities to win the game in regulation (missed FT and missed game winner). Also, I really didn't think that was continuation - he was literally grabbed while dribbling the ball.

Tatum was phenomenal, though, and it's great to have both Bird and Tatum tied at the top of the record books. And it's entirely possible that one day Tatum will blow that number away.
