A Rollie Massimino drilled this in but not everybody had the will or the skill to push beyond .I watched Marcus Smart pick it up and this motivated Jaylen. Pritchard early in the season was picking up full court on defense and pushing the ball up and he has tempered..His aggressive in you face and space allowed himto fulcrum his body making up for length and mass.
At all star break the guy was running on fumes the toll of so many games ,the travel and Covid
The bubble,no fans,no homecourt advantage,no training camp to speak of. Add the new player mix. And parity of the East for leaving no games off.
I think the players are just trying to survive and it is showing as awkward or inconsistent play.
The regulars not playing together ,injuries, new additions and watching super teams being formed. The trade deadline and losing a gritty favorite center.
Rob Williams talks about game starting to slow down and him getting to another level. He already is irreplaceable
The fight for homecourt advantage so prized afer all the decades on NBA history is no longer the realty of past history.
Defense hurts fighting off multiple screens It's exhausting punishing, aggressive and hurts any kind of finesse offensive game.
Marcus was a gladiator playing defense on Donic .Without Timelord with his energy and defensive presence we were missing critical talent.but that type of intensity is unsustainable .Jaylen ramped it up at times but Donic was hitting shots that were daggers thwarting a defensive resurgence.Getting it back to 2 points down showed what has to be done full game

The Jordan Bulls played like this every night. Tatum, Brown, Smart, Timelord....have the ability if they want to.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Ball movement is thrilling stuff.Team defense is grit, timing and instinctual yet needs communication/
Last year Tatum was disruptive force with his length in passing lanes.

I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
