Don't we have too many players now? Who's going out? Is there another trade coming?
I'm assuming one of Green, Edwards, Teague.

I know people love to crap on him here but it'd be nuts to cut Teague outright.

I've crapping on Teague for a while but the last few games he's been money. He's looked really good. I don't think he's on the cut trade list. It has to be Green or Edwards. I would let Green go. I also wonder if Semi is out for the season.

Edwards has to go. Not an NBA player.

If we cut him, we'd have to eat his salary. Assuming we wanna stay below the tax line, I bet we trade one of them to a 3rd team (or maybe the Magic?).

Ummm. Teague is finally starting to play well and he’s the best 3pt shooter on the team. They better not cut him.
Quoting Nick from the now locked Ime thread:

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Per a source: The Celtics have received significant interest in pending free agent big man Daniel Theis and veteran big Tristan Thompson.

Im ok with Celts trading Theis. Cant overpay for his services

Focus should be on Timelord imo

Teague at his worst plays like Edwards at his best. I don’t see how we can hang on to Edwards if we need to make a cut

He may be the easiest to get moved between the 3. Again, I'm assuming we wanna avoid the tax, hence we cannot just cut someone.

Btw, Teague is mostly attempting wide open catch and shoot 3s. If Tatum were only attempting wide open catch and shoot 3, his 3P% would have been similar to Teague's (if not better). The same goes for Brown and Kemba.

Send out Thompson with Edwards to bring back one player.

Moving any of those three won't keep us from the tax.  We need to move one of Thompson/Theis for that.

Too bad we won’t pay Timelord over 20 mins a game...

that makes the most sense considering the tax.  Theis is the most versatile but will likely cost double his current contract to resign him this offseason.   question is do they want to move TT (making about what Theis will make next season) figuring they can resign Theis?  interesting risk.

Yep, you are right. I just put down the numbers. I believe we are $1,734,260 over the tax line.

Alternatively, we could trade Semi. His salary is $1,752,950. Wouldn't want us to just dump him for cap relief though.

Definitely another trade coming, or an expanded version of this trade.  C's are in the tax.

But otherwise Javonte.

My thinking also.  Green would seem to be the odd man out right now.
Right.  He's also 28 years old and was REALLY lucky to make this roster...simply not NBA material, though I love his athleticism.  I hope he lands somewhere other than the G-league.

And do your numbers include all of Jaylen's incentives?  He's got some All-Star/All-NBA escalators that I think have triggered but have not been added to likely salaries because they're paid out at the end of the year.

Also, presumably we want to play in the buyout market a little, which means we need to send out enough extra to take on someone for at least the minimum, and maybe the BAE if we're trying to up the offer a little.

No, I just included Fournier's $300K bonuses. I'd love us to dump Thompson(preferably) or Theis for a protected 1st or at least a couple of 2nds.
