Jeff Teague
Grant Williams
Nesmith
Romeo, Romeo, where the heck are you
Carsen
Tremont
Semi
J green
Tacko

I like Semi but 34 minutes tonight. Sign of a really shallow roster. Hard to win with Nine guys that can't carry their own weight.  This team is built terribly. Thanks again Danny.

Very interesting post to make in the wake of Teague's best game as a Celtic and a good game from G-Will too.

Nesmith and Romeo have 50 games played collectively. Bit early to write them off, no?

We were missing 3 starters tonight that's why we had to give Semi 34 minutes and all the other players got more time than they should have.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Talking about the present moment.  Teague you can count on not showing up for a while.

Semi for me ideally would be the 15th best player on the roster. On this team he's basically the 7th to 9th best player. Most reliable player.

I like Semi, but not that much.

It's probably unhealthy, but I miss wallowing in Celtics sorrows with the people on this site.

Yeah, I've pointed this out to people so many times.

People are always throwing shade at Tatum, Brown and Kemba for playing too much ISO ball and not moving the ball around, but they don't seem to realise that there really aren't any other consistent scorers on the team that they can pass the ball to...

The Celtics 4th scoring option is Marcus Smart.  Let that sink in for a moment.  Smart is a defensive minded point guard who has averaged 10 PPG (on 38% FG / 32% 3PT) for his career.  He's one of the worst shooting (and most offensively inefficient) guards I have ever seen play the game.  He's an offensive liability 70% of the time he's on the court.  He is Boston's #4 scoring option.

Their 5th offensive option is...they don't even have one.  Sincerely.  There is not a single other guy on the roster who can create offence with any type of consistency outside of those 4 guys.

This might not be so bad if they had a ton of quality shooters who could space the floor and keep the defence honest, but they don't have that either.  Pritchard and (maybe) Grant Williams are basically the only two guys outside of that top 3 that is any sort of consistent threat from outside.

So really, the only thing that Tatum, Brown and Kemba can do is force things and play ISO ball because they are the only guys on the court who can actually score. Heaven forbid if any one of those four guys has to go to the bench for a rest or miss a game for any reason...

This team desperately needs some scoring and/or shooting help around those guys to give them some actual incentive to pass the ball.

There isn't a single team in the league with 14 players better than Semi. If you're expecting any team to ever have 15 legit players and no JAGs (or 17, since you're including 2 way guys), then you're going to be disappointed 30 times every year
I'm bitter.

I like all those players as end of bench guys 10-15. The issue is there are too many of them. 9 end of bench players means you have guys in elevated rolls. That can't succeed most nights.

There is a lot of sketcky talent on the C's and this is what is killing us.   We have two young stars who have got us to the ECF a few times.   But they need help

Grant Williams can shoot a bit but he is subpar in every aspect of the game over than that.   Our talent around Tatum and Brown just leads to double teams waiting to happen.   I don't think Brown likes Williams.   He has talked up PP and Rob but never talks up Grant and he ignores him on offense so all that shooting is for naught.

I take Teague, Neismith, Grant off that list.

Everything else from Romeo down I agree with.

Romeo, when healthy, isn’t “garbage”. Not even close. He is easily a good rotation player, maybe a starter.

I don’t call an injured player “garbage”.

when is Langford healthy?  Hasn't been in two seasons and was injured in college.  At some point, you can't just use the injuries as an excuse because at some point the injuries are who you are.  i'm not sure we are there yet, but Langford needs to get healthy and stay healthy very quickly.

This is where I am with Romeo. Kid hasn't been healthy in 3 years basically. That's not his fault, he's not giving much reason to believe he'll ever be healthy enough to contribute consistently. Even if he comes back, he hasn't played meaningful basketball in months and the nature of his injury means he was limited in working on his shooting and overall game so we can't expect much development.

He may never pan out. I object to calling him a “garbage” player. He’s a good player whose career might be cut short by injury.
