If Danny trades for him it will be for Tristan straight up. Nothing else makes any sense

Not sure whether the Spurs would be willing to part ways with Vassell, but it would be worth a shot.

Re-sign Aldridge-Mills on the cheap during the offseason or let them walk. We'd save tons of money either way, which would help us use the full TPE and still keep our payroll under control. As things stand right now, I don't think we can realistically expect to use the full TPE. I mean, the luxury tax would explode through the roof next season! I can't see Wyc paying an NBA record luxury tax, especially in the midst of a recession due to the pandemic.

This doesn’t meet any of San Antonio’s goals.  They take on substantial salary and give up a high upside lottery pick, for what?

Read this exact trade earlier today.  Why?  Thompson is still 29 so the Spurs get a little younger and Aldridge would being a vet presence to the Celtics that might just be what is needed, specially for Theis and Williams.

I'm torn about this idea.  Thompson is five years younger than Aldridge AND has deep playoff experience.  Do folks who like this trade think that TT is also "washed up"?

He'll go to a REAL championship contender, not pretenders like C's.
