We have learned that we have 3-4 good players and 10 bad ones. It’s hard to make up for that fact night in and night out. This is a transition year. We gotta get Kemba off the books and fix that bench.

Unless the team plans on sitting Tatum and Brown there is no way it can or will be able to tank.  And I have no idea why the team would sit Tatum and Brown.
to make the team more likeable maybe?  ;D

No, we are still ahead of the Knicks in the standings.  :P

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

The truth is, outside of Tatum and Brown there really isn't another player on our team who can consistently perform night after night.

Only if we can trade Jaylen for the first overall pick at the conclusion  of the lottery. Imagine if we did that, got lucky with the bounce and ended up with both the first and second overall picks, and added Cunningham and Mobley? And still had room for a max free agent in 2023 (Jokic!)? Tatum, Jokic, Cunningham and Mobley = Dynasty...

The issue is how do we tank unless we just sit Tatum? Well, he says he’s still struggling to recover from C19, so why not rest him until his breathing is back to 100%? Probably a better move for the team in both the short-run and long-run, particularly as it relates to Tatum’s career. Maybe pushing him so hard after COVID is impacting his long-term health? With just Jaylen out there, he’ll get the good stats and we’ll still lose, but Jaylen might look good enough to buy the first overall pick, especially if everyone can convince everyone that Jaylen is better than Cunningham...

Celts should consider tanking

Put Tatum on post covid rest requirement

Put Kemba on IR for knee soreness

Put Jaylen on IR for knee tendonitis

Put Smart on IR for calf strain

Give mins to the rest of the lineup. If they can play 500 ball on their own. It speeds up their development.   Then once the starters return they can trust the bench. OR showcase the bench and trade for help at the deadline.

If neither option works. Just shut the season down and regroup for next season.  Try to tank for a top 5 pick.

Worst thing that happens is the Celts are the 6-9 seed.  Get blown out in the playoffs. And obtain a mediocre pick

I wouldn’t mind another lottery pick than pick 18-20 or whatever and a quick exit in the playoffs.

Problem is even if we tank we can’t get into the top-5. So it’s really are we giving up on the playoffs to go from 17-23 to 10-14 by tanking.

If we could somehow end up with Cade Cunningham, we'd build a dynasty!

PG: Cunningham
SG: Brown
SF: 3+D swing
PF: Tatum
C: PnR specialist

Cunningham is a 6'8", unselfish ball handler who thrives in the half court. He can create shots for himself. He can create shots for his teammates. He can shoot the 3. He can defend multiple positions. He can do it all! Unfortunately, I don't see a realistic scenario where we end up with Cunningham. If we really want him, we gotta sacrifice Brown. Personally speaking, I'd probably do it, but that's another story.

If it could turn out like GSW last year I don't know that I would be against it... Given we don't use our TPE this season. Which, for some reason, I'm getting the feeling we won't.

We could end up with a pretty serious pick as a trade asset. TPE + that pick could be something. Not sure if it's the way to go, but it's interesting.

'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)
