this team just seems to be in some kind of funk where they just aren't committing to playing to win.  It can't be just the absence of Smart to light a fire under them.  they just look like they're going through the motions out there

Guys don't trust each other. That's what it is to me. If you're a player, you're going to swing that pass with more conviction if you believe they player getting the pass can hit the shot. When you stop believing, it's all performative.

This is why dudes like Theis, G Will, and Semi should not be on this team.

Theis shouldn't be listed with those 2

That’s fair. He shouldn’t be a starter or have more than 15 minutes a game though.

Kemba and Pritchard are 2-9 from 3...

They need to also get Nesmith going

Nesmith has to learn not to move when a Celtic player drives.

Already seen a few turnovers (in general) because he moves during drive and kick out attempts

Yeah, Theis has been our best big all year, he's a warrior.

So far today, Kemba 3-8 and 1-5 from behind the arc. Come on Kemba, we need you to do more

He’s smiling.  Isn’t that enough?    ;D

Some of these problems would be alleviated if we played the type of solid defense we were accustomed to seeing from the Celtics.
Has the absence of Gordon Hayward also hurt our defense ?

Yep, defense leads to offense. And it seems like all of our offensive possessions are difficult ones. And when we do get out in transition, apparently Grant Williams charges into the defensive player on a 2-on-1 with Jaylen bringing up the rear.

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

there's a lot more real issues on this team before we get to Theis.

Any movement would be good.

Hayward and Horford losses sucked away the ball/ body movement

Their games are subtle but impactful

I agree - love Theis. But I actually have higher hopes for the other two. Semi is really only out there to be the guy who catches and shoots from the corners, and he has been pretty good at that this year; Grant is supposed to be able to play the high post and get others involved with his high bbiq - unfortunately he has been ummm...not good at all this year.
