A healthy Smart.

Huge for the defense.   Huge for the closing lineups.   Huge for back to back games.

It allows all the role players to slide back down one slot.

Langford could be a big boost in terms of Brown and Tatum getting more defensive rest during the regular season.

So yes, it is clearly a boost.

But it can not be the only boost this team gets.

Sure they'll boost the team, but we'll still be mediocre.

I'm looking forward to Romeo's return. In addition to his excellent perimeter defense, he has shown ability to finish strong at the rim, and feel that is something greatly lacking in our current wings.

Last I checked, Langford still can't shoot. So unless that suddenly changes, he'll have no impact.

It would be nice to just see if the kid can play.  Seems like he's got more to offer than Edwards or Waters (not that that's a high measuring stick).
Yup

Smart will help our defense, and if he becomes more selective, maybe even our offense.

Langford, who hasn't played well since high school, will likely make little difference.

It's still early but it's looking less and less likely Kemba will return to his old form. The only thing that can really change this team is to combine a number of our assets and trade them for a star.

No, they need more than that, but I still believe in this team and it's a long season.

So many people tend to be so critical of Marcus Smart.  He takes a couple of bad shots per game which is frustrating to watch, but he does all the little things and the dirty work.  He plays great defense and provides leadership holding his teammates accountable.  Now that he’s missed so much time, his value to the team has become so apparent.  I can’t wait until he gets back.

Yeah, who knew? I have occasionally thrown his name in trades for apparent upgrades, but evidently he is our most important player. I know people have been lauding our two-bigs line-up as of late, but I am ready to get Marcus back at SG (with both Jays at the F spots) so we can have a much more dynamic offensive/ball-handling line-up and one that can create more havoc on defense.

I doubt Langford will have much effect this season, but he certainly has the ability to add to the versatility I just described as his best attributes are ball-handling and defense with solid size.

I think he's the main guy who makes the others want to really compete.  It's definitely not Stevens or Tatum.  I also complain about Smart's shot selection and think Stevens should encourage him to clean that up, but it is now pretty obvious that Smart is the one who fires up the whole team to compete and play with some urgency.

Smart will help a lot. These defensive lapses and late game shots were all made by guys Smart would cover.  Now I'm not saying they would not have hit them but he definitely would have made it more difficult.  The D is just trash right now.  Guys get to the hoop at ease forcing our bigs to help and allowing a ton of offensive rebounds because our bigs are cleaning up messes.  Our perimeter D is just garbage right now.
