Will Smart and Langford return save the team from mediocrity?

This is likely what Danny is hoping for, before thinking about doing anything else

In theory the team D should improve and gain 15-17 pts a game between the two players on a consistent basis

I don't think Danny will do anything by the trade deadline unless they are small moves.  Like Muscala or Neto cheap moves.  Or price of Reddick comes down to a 2nd round pick/Edwards or something like that

A major move is more likely to happen next offseason

Danny stated today when asked,  "if this was a championship caliber team". And he said no.   Which is a little sad to hear.  A step back from last season where the team was 2 wins away from reaching the finals.

Don't you remember that Danny said one of the reasons why we lost vs Heat was because our secret weapon Romeo couldn't play??  ;D

But seriously, I was impressed with Romeo defense late last season.   His effort,  body/athleticism/strength  and experience he gained down at Maine =  progression

Offensively he flashed some nice skills.  Though shooting form is ugly. 

And yes Musacala would help. He went 7 for 11 yesterday.  6'10 dude that is mobile and can shoot.

Romeo could be nice. I just hope he does not get injured every time his team needs him. His track record on the timing of his injuries is spotless lol.
If Romeo can go against starters and not be negative I would be happy but we have to tamper expectations. As of right now this is basically the main option.
I was proposing trading TL for Muscala but got shut down on here. I do think we should not trade picks for him but if possible one of our many rookie contracts.

TL would be an overpay x 2 for Muscala who is 28 and set to be a FA next season

Now if it was Muscala and Dort I'm all ears/consider

Smart returning will certainly help.

Langford, not so much; and his main competition, Aaron Nesmith, has been making a case for court time.

Smart coming back will be a big help.  To me, that is obvious.  In addition to allowing us to stretch our depth, he will also make a big difference when we have to rest Kemba Walker.

As to Romeo Langford, hard to know what we are going to get from him when he does come back.  If we get the guy from the end of last season and in the playoffs, great, he will step in and help the bench in a meaningful way.  But this has been a long layoff for a player who had barely established himself last season.  I am afraid he is going to have fallen behind due to the layoff and that it will be hard for him to catch up mid season under the circumstances.

i kinda understand the torn hand ligament thing or appreciate the uncomfortableness of it all and living normal.   About 4 months ago ,  i snagged my index finger between the handrailing and wall going to my basement .  I d never damaged a hand before in any sports growing up.  I heard nosies a wish i didn't .  I did not break the finger , but tried to tear it off my hand towards my thumb. I just now can touch the keypad and not see stars.   Everytime it would start to feel better ,  i would tweak it and reverse the healing .  So imagine that is what Langford is trying to do , not jam his wrist or hand and go backwards .  Its a nagging thing a hand injury, you take for granted these things.

Walker's last three starts - 30 MPG - 21 PPG

The point with NOT having Walker start is the player that is getting his minutes.

Smart runs the defense the Celtics are 4-6 since he went out. Who is getting Smart's minutes?

You can't judge the team if those two starters are out.

Against the Hawks...

Semi
Robert
Grant
Pritchard
Nesmith played a lot of minutes on their own. Those five guys aren't going to beat the Hawks.

Walker
Smart
Brown
Tatum
Theis

Were 48-24 last season.
