Tatum- Below average rebounder

           Below average defender

           Great shooter

           Doesn't go hard to basket

Turns off refs with complaining every call

           Bryant wanted to beat everybody

This kid needs a coach that will light a fire under him

He could play a little harder and sacrifice his body a little more. But Tatum D is better than Carmelo Anthony at the same age

Tatum bread and butter is scoring

He is facilitating more these days

but guys are not hitting their shots (except Friday)

You put Tatum on Jazz or Nuggets or Suns roster.  They would instantaneously be favorites to win it all

I wish he’d stop bringing the ball up like he’s our point guard.

He's a pretty good defender and he's 2nd among small forwards in rebounding behind Lebron James. He's averaging career highs in scoring and assists, lol, I think his fire is just fine.

TP. I agree with almost nothing in the OP and think this thread would not exist if Tatum didn't play terribly in yesterday's game. This is a recency bias/over reaction thread and nothing more.

His mentality and skill set are more Carmelo than Kobe. Tatum seems to be indifferent when the Celtics lose or are getting beaten badly, Kobe hated losing more than anything.

Also, if there’s a coach out there who can light a fire under Tatum it ain’t Stevens.

You're making assumptions. As I said in the other Tatum thread, because he's not vocal doesn't mean he doesn't care.

The OP is almost entirely wrong. Tatum is a completely solid rebounder. Averages more than Kawhi and the same as Durant.

He’s a strong defender. Elite team defender, solid 1v1 defender.

These claims are really just nonsense. We’re complaining about a 22 year-old All-NBA lock because what, he doesn’t cry when he loses? Give me a break.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

As Nick said, it's recency bias because of yesterday's game. There's no way you can look at a player who puts in the work to improve as much as Jayson and say, "yeah, that guys just doesn't care." The funny part is if he was more demonstrative or whined publicly about losing constantly, he'd get labeled a headcase or a cancer like Demarcus Cousins was.

He clearly doesn't care, that's why he comes back better after every offseason and routinely comes up big in clutch moments and thrives in the playoffs ;D
