The Cs will be looking for vets who will be bought out.  I would target Thad Young if he were to be bought out.

Teague and Edwards are the ones most likely to be traded for highly protected 2nds, to free up roster spots.

The NBA trade deadline is March 25 this year. The Celtics have 3 trade exceptions ($28.5M – Hayward)($4.76M – Kanter)($2.5M – Poirier). The team looks like it has taken a step back, and needs to improve if they have any desire to contend. Over the past few seasons at the trade deadline, Danny was reluctant to make any significant trades to help the team make that extra push into title contention. Danny was far too concerned with the team’s future and the potential promise of those draft picks. The max players that were part of that group are gone now, and the only one remaining is a shell of himself (Kemba). Now it’s up to those foundational pieces in Tatum and Brown. I’m asking myself the following questions:

Does Danny finally push his chips forward to help improve the team at this deadline?
Can this team win this season, without a legit big man? The Celtics may not get out of the East with Embiid, Adebayo, or Antetokounmpo.
Did Danny already miss his opportunity to go all in to win another title?
I have been furious the past few trade deadlines when Danny did nothing. I can’t imagine my frustration level if Danny sits out another trade deadline.
What do you expect him to do with the TPE? Unless he badly overpays he has to wait for the right deal. Is it worth sending multiple first round picks for Harrison Barnes? Is it worth sending 4 first round picks for J. Collins ?
Most of his options are to be a part of a trade where he takes on unwanted salary that fits the TpE ... there is nothing out there yet. There are names thrown around like Drummond and Griffin but their salaries are too big. He just have to wait.
It’s unfortunate that there is always an excuse to not make a deadline trade but it’s just the reality.
Last year the excuse was that we didn’t have enough tradeworthy contracts to match salaries.
This year the excuse is that there are no trade worthy players to utilize the tpe .
2 years before that the excuse was that we didn’t know who to move and that we had too many mouths to feed.

I only mentioned the TPE's, since they're part of the tradeable assets. Those TPE's are severely diminished now since we only have our own draft picks.
