Because he can’t defend a chair without fouling it.

This is not complicated.

Then give him his 6 fouls...it really isn’t that complicated.

You should go into coaching!
BTW Todd you get a Tommy Point for your name. I was in the building that night that Day got 41 and he may be my most disliked Celtic of all time.  That was an awful team and Day was an awful player lol.

Thanks. There was a time when Todd Day constituted a big FA signing for the Cs. Thank goodness those days are gone.

Because Danny messed it up again...

Nesmith is suppose to be doing what Saddiq Bey did to us which is shoot lights out from three...
Lo and behold the guy couldnt even sink his open threes...way to go Danny.

Hope today's game answers the question asked. He simply isn't ready yet. You can see the effort, the hustle, the increasingly improving defense, that nice form on his shot.

He'll get to where the team needs him in time, he just isn't there yet. He is a rookie. They struggle. Heck, even everyone's darling Pritchard has looked bad the last two games.

Patience people.

Lol, here we go. I wanted Bey too, but stop pretending like he’s lighting the world on fire with his 9PPG on a terrible Detroit team. I bet Nesmith would be able to do similarly on that team, because he’d play a lot more

Nesmith would be spending most or all of this season in the G League, if one were available.

Did Danny screw up by drafting such a raw player, when there were clearly better win-now pieces available?  Yeah, I think so.  I don't like to judge picks before the first season is even up.  The best practice is to draft for potential not for current fit.  But this team needs help NOW and Danny already took a guy last year who wasn't ready to contribute at all in Year 1.  It's frustrating that the team really needs useful role players on the bench and Danny is 0-2 with two late lottery picks in finding one.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

He played harder than anyone else out there. The shot will fall but he needs time on the floor. The rest of the Celtics didn't look ready today. Except Brown who is always ready. Nesmith's stroke looks sweet.

He may have played hard but had ZERO results. I don't recall seeing even one play where I said "wow, great hustle, nice rebound, etc." I remember NOTHING about his 28 plus minutes. Sweet stroke - Isn't that what I heard for YEARS as James Young became OLD being young? I hope you are right but this looks like just another wasted pick by Danny.

Played really good defense and had 5 rebounds and 5 points. I thought he hustled and made some good plays out there.

I think Nesmith will be a good piece to the rotation in the upcoming years..just give him time, just a rookie
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

Big Al was raw.  Avery Bradley was raw.  Rajon Rondo was raw.  Jaylen Brown was raw.  Terry Rozier was raw.

Raw isn’t a bad thing.  Draft picks should be about the future.

It’s the free agents that we have added that are the the main issue.

Jeff Teague being an absolute trainwreck and TT getting derailed by a hamstring issue has really not been fun.
