See the highlight clip below. It was 2 years ago but 1st half of last season, he had the same boost.  Lightning quick. Ability to finish near the rim

Right now he cant. Getting shots blocked on nearly every layup attempt. Jump shot lacks the usual lift/leap. Havent seen his famous drive stop and pop, ankle breaks.

Do you believe he can return to all star form? Or cant risk another knee injury/setback and will need to adjust his game. Adjust jump shot/timing.  Incorporate floaters etc.

I hope I’m wrong but it seems Kemba’s All Star days are done. His game has deteriorated and his confidence seems to be at an all time low. That being said, I still think he could be the perfect third option behind the Js. He just needs to step back and let the Js do their thing. The question is, would he be willing to do that?

This is wildly premature

Think injury and age is a factor. We won't see consistent games of the all star Kemba but we will see a few games here and there. It's part of getting older and dealing with a injured failing body. Some days he will have it some he won't. We might only see it in a first half of games as well. Look at Kemba as a 34 year old PG and that's what I expect.

He won't return to all star game by nature of this role on the team.  But I don't think he's lost that much.  The issue is that his shot isn't falling.  That is causing all kinds of issues for him.

Forget about all star game for a sec.

He can have a reduced role/pass up shots. But still look/play like an all star

Can he return to that level of play?

he has no lift anymore.  it's killing his jump shot.

I would hold off all judgments till he's played a half season. So far he's played 9 games with no training camp and probably very few organized team practices.  Also can't make snap judgements on a guy who's a core part of your team with a contract that makes him very hard to move - certainly not if you want decent value back.

If he's done this team has no chance of competing for a title this season and probably beyond.

I'm still in on Kemba.  I actually think he looks good, physically.  Just missing shots.

He's always going to get some shots blocked in the paint.  Always has.  He's a 6'0" PG without elite length or an elite vertical.  That just comes with the territory.

As for being a poor fit with the Jays... Bosh was a poor fit with Lebron and Wade, until he adjusted his game and became an elite off-ball jumpshooter.  Ray and KG did the same with us.  Players can evolve and adapt their games to suit the team around them.  Kemba has the opportunity to do the same.  He says the right things.  Now he needs to follow through.

Really? Tell that to IT, Chris Paul, Kyle Lowry..

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Pretty sure Hayward was done too. Starting to wonder why any free agent would ever want to come to this team. God forbid you ever get injured while putting your body on the line for the team and fans.

Does it not take time to recover from injuries or should we all expect non medical fast recoveries and stop supporting our players when they fall?

God help us if Brown or Tatum ever get injured. The threads of trade injured Brown or injured Tatum now will be unbearable.

Maybe  it is the past year that  is getting to me and others..I am tired of the negativity and trade everyone threads that appear after every loss and every bad game by a player.

Yes, Kemba is not back at full strength. He has played 9 games so far. I know, he only had stem cell injection into an injured knee. For the life or me I cannot figure out why he has not returned  to all star strength  immediately.

This town is truly starting to live up to its bad reputation of being toxic.  Maybe Hayward did not leave solely for the money.

A push poll whose premise is unproven.

Does he can ? Of course he can.
Will he ? I don't know and no one knows.
Is it a good idea to trade him before we know his real value ? Definitely not.

All topics about "fire Kemba" or "oracle future of Kemba" may be close with just this few observations.
