This is Nesmith's chance to make a case for more PT. It's also time for Teague to step up and contribute.

Makes sense, but knowing Brad, I guess we are just going to get a lot more of Semi

Out of left field but I hope Waters gets a look. I like him more than Edwards and Teague. He’s a solid defender and is always looking for his bigs. I’d run him with Timelord

Well that's the good news.

Bad news is, this team might be fighting for a 7 or 8 seed in this shortened season.

Great news. He will be very important for the second part of the season and the PO but until then we can developp, try and maybe decide better who will be the TPE guy. His offensive role was problematic and he was inconstant, so maybe it could free some players and give Kemba or the Jays more shots. We need him later. With a good momentum and without public, we could still be the 2021 Heat and advance in Final even being 5th/6th seed on the regular season.

ECF is a seeding crapshoot.  Get into the playoffs and take your chances on a good pairing in the first round.  HCA less of an issue this year seeding is just less of a factor.  Be healthy, iron out the rotation, finish the year strong and confident. Add a shooter.

I’d love Smart to take his time coming back - but that doesn’t sound very much like Smart does it?

Good opportunity for AN.    PP back pretty soon  — hoping he will pick up minutes as well.

April/May, if you go by the official announcement.

With Smart and Langford out, this is Aaron Nesmith’s golden opportunity.
'I was proud of Marcus Smart. He did a great job of keeping us together. He might not get credit for this game, but the pace that he played at, and his playcalling, some of the plays that he called were great. We obviously have to rely on him, so I’m definitely looking forward to Marcus leading this team in that role.' - Jaylen Brown, January 2021

Seeing less of a factor unless you want to see two of Brooklyn, Milwaukee, and Philadelphia in the playoffs.

Well it was a 4-5 month recovery from his surgery, that was September 22. Five months would be February 22. So likely sometime in February.

Yeah I'm going to be honest. I forgot he even existed on the team before I saw this post

THANK GOD!

There was legit fears of it being an Achilles injury.

I know our defense will take a hit going forward, but I wouldn't rush Smart either. If it takes like a month or something, let him rest up and heal. It's more important to be as healthy as possible for the 2nd half + playoffs ideally.

Agree. This could lead to other issues down the line (like Kevin Durant's calf issue that eventually led the ruptured Achilles). We need to be extra cautious.
