I read this idea in a couple of places and have mixed feelings about it. I guess NO is trying to dump him.  If Bledsoe could come in and run the second unit and defend at a high level would he be worth it?

You can't trade the TPE

Only use it to absorb a players contract

I know picks and cash? can go out for Bledsoe

But not sure if one rookie scale contract could also be included

And also, New Orleans has no reason to trade Bledsoe.  He is playing well  and on a reasonable contract

Pelicans want to shed Reddick and Ball

The trade would work fine. Bledsoe would go into the exception, and Teague could be traded as a minimum salary player.

I read they wanted him out to give there young guards more time but that maybe just click bait.

I don't like Bledsoe as a back-up PG.  I don't think that would work at all.  Now if we traded Kemba, then having Bledsoe be the starter makes some level of sense.  Bledsoe is obviously worse than Kemba, but he is a better defender and isn't as ball dominant on offense so he might fit better.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Bledsoe is a turnover machine. But if Brad can get him to play calm for 20 min a night he might be good. He also has a chip on his shoulder to prove the bucks he’s worth it but that doesn’t mean he can help us against bucks lol.

I like him off the bench especially to defend some of these quick guards that give Smart problems.

He's been terrible in the playoffs but in a bench role he could be potent.

I don’t think it would be a good trade for us. It doesn’t make a lot of sense to me to pay your back up point guard $18 million or so for the next three seasons. That salary would put us over the luxury tax the season, and would essentially end all of our flexibility.

you are proposing a way to circumvent to make the trade work

TPE can't be traded as subject proposes.  And not sure why in heavens Pelicans would want Teague

I agree.  And he is a nervous wreck in the playoffs.

If Reddick can be had for a 2nd and Edwards.  And use TPE to absorb his contract

I would do this trade yesterday

Reddick is struggling this season,  but still one of the deadliest pure shooters in the league.

Bledsoes' contract and its length it a nice fit for the TPE but at 31 he is a few years older then I want to see them trade for and does not play a position of need.

When predicting a healthy Celtics playoff rotation I currently see

PG Walker
SG Smart
SF Brown
PF Tatum
C  Thompson/Theis

6th Langford
7th Theis/R Williams
8th Pritchard
9th Semi/Grant

Where I would like to see the upgrade is on at the Wing. Ideally they get a wing with enough size to push Grant for the small ball 5 role and provide scoring off the bench. I'm not sure that player is out there. H Barnes and A Gordon is likely out of reach for a Cs trade ( and Im not sure if either excepts a bench role so Smart goes back to 6th man), L Nance could be a nice fit but I worry if his shot is for real, maybe Thad Young but he is older then I would want and not much of a floor spacer.

I really hate Bledsoe’s game and he’s not a smart player.. There is a reason his last team moved him and his current is looking to do the same. Do we really need another guard? I think Teague will get better, just doesn’t look confident out there. Plus, why would you want him taking minutes from
Pritchard.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

We don't need another PG. We have too many. Especially when P Money returns.
