Tatum doesn't seek out contact like Jaylen does, but his lack of calls so far in the early part of the season seems criminal.  In the Brooklyn game especially, it seemed like Tatum had some plays at the rim that probably should've been and-1's.

Yay. Eurostep Tatum

He plays like a pretty boy most of the time.  Wish he would take some charges

Crash into bodies. Up and unders/fakes and pay a price to get to the line

Like Bron’s no foul game streak? Ten would be crazy at over 20 a game. He’s probably setting a record that won’t ever be broken.

Brad needs to get a fine over this by calling out refs. Phil Jackson or Greg Popovich would call that out and pay the fine.

He doesn’t get calls when he’s clearly fouled let alone star calls that other players at his level get.  I think that makes him shy away from contact.

lol you think he shies away from contact because he does not get call? That is hilarious. He avoids contact because that is his game. Have you seen him carry players on his hip like even Pritchaard does? He misses layups alll the time because he avoids contact and tries to stretch for layups while avoiding contact. He needs to bulk up and start going to the hoop with authority. Pump fake and get hammered like other players do.

I think he stopped going inside in the Nets game due to lack of calls. Theis gets hit more with less calls than anyone I’ve ever seen but he still plays his game. I think the calls effect Tatum more as a young player.

watch some film of Tatum in college he shot mostly from the outside and then went in for dunks because he could use the athleticism more in college ball. Now that he is playing in the NBA the talent is better and the dunks do not come as easily as they did in college. He has to get stronger so players can bounce off him rather than vice-versa.

Thats not a good reason to stop trying

That makes the opposing teams life easier

I couldnt belive my eyes Kyrie Irving was going after it for offensive boards. Crashing the O boards

I dont remember the last time Tatum did this (or take a charge)

I agree that Tatum needs to force the issue inside more. He sadly needs to learn to sell the contact. Smart should be able to give him some tips.

Kyrie also avoids contact but went to the line 4 times.

you cannot use Kyrie as your comparison for Tatum...Kyrie is a smaallish PG and you have Tatum playing the 4 ..you need your 4 to be more physical than Tatum.
