Yeah, but it’s not really a first offense, which makes that justification a bit silly.
Harden was late to Rockets training camp because he was allegedly partying in Atlanta and Las Vegas without a mask, as seen in a video and several photos on his Instagram.
Silver was asked about that. He wasn't under the coronavirus protocols until he reported so it was actually a 1st offense of violation of the protocols.
Seems bizarre. So you can show up as late as you want, after the league year starts, and you can’t be punished for the behavior that made you late?
You aren't under the coronavirus protocols until you report. That doesn't mean you can't be punished for not reporting by the team, but that is a team not league issue. The protocols are a league thing and you aren't under league control until you actually show up for the season.
