On a side note, Marcus seems to become more and more like Tony Allen.  Some nights he’s a top-50 players.  Others he looks like the dumbest player in the NBA.  Always tough, always a bulldog, and he helps win games...  but he also loses you probably more games than anybody on the roster.

You’re right. I feel like he needs to take on a Draymond Green role and just play great D and find the open man on the offensive end. Brad needs to limit his shot attempts and tell him focus on getting his assist avg up. His poor shooting is negating his defense prowess at this point.

I think Teague and Nesmith should be starting to spread the court for Tatum and Brown. The starting line up is making it too easy on the defense at the start of the game.

Nesmith can spread the floor in theory. But if he doesn't get going early, the defense is not going to respect his ability

And I can also see Tatum/Brown/Smart try to jumpstart their games (as usual).   Nesmith will just stand out in the corner collecting dust

Teague and Thompson are solid vets and met all my expectation for this game .  especially this early in the season against top three team in league .

Teague fits in nicely with cbs as a vet team leader

Yes. We're not moving the ball as well with Smart starting at the 1. Teague's by far the best playmaker on the team and if he gets enough minutes, can make up for some of GH's offensive contribution.

I'd rather Pritchard be on the second unit.

As for Teague over Wannamaker? Teague's a much better playmaker and a better offensive player even on a bad team the last couple of years. Career-wise it's not close. BW is clearly the better defender. We needed offense and, specifically, playmaking on the second unit more than defense.

I wouldn't be surprised if Teague does very well here this season from what I've seen of him so far.

1. bench scoring

Teague has been solid in every game so far, and 19 points off the bench last night. He brings just what we need. It will look even better once we get Kemba back.

Agree.  Start Payton, he looked good last night.  13 minutes and no turnovers and hustling D.  Yea he missed a few shots but he wasn't afraid to take them.  He also made his first of many 3s.  I still like him very much.  Good pick Danny.

I'm not expecting Teague to put up 19 points every game (though it'd be nice), but it was refreshing to actually see some scoring out of the 2nd unit. In fact, even when they were trailing, the 2nd unit came in and got us back in the game, and then along with Brown helped to take the lead. Teague hit some big shots in the 1st half that kept us afloat and then allowed us to come back.

If you remember last season, if the team was down 10 and the 2nd unit came in, they'd go down 20. Or if they had a 10 point lead, it would go away quickly as the bench couldn't even score.

Ojeyele also looked pretty good. Would love to see if he has improved from the last few seasons.

I'm a lot more optimistic about our bench than last season with the additions of Teague/Thompson/Pritchard/Nesmith, and while it's a ways away I'd hope the C's think of making another addition mid-season for the bench or even for some disgruntled player (not Harden).

He played 25 minutes, which is starter minutes. He's a big improvement on Wanamaker because he is a facilitator, not just a scorer.

One of the best takeaways from last night was how good Marcus was while barely shooting at all. I've been worried he was thinking he should take on a larger offensive load, and I'm happy he played that way instead. He was great. Against some teams, he'll get easy shots, but last night he played the right way.
