The Sixers seem like an easy answer but they'd have to trade Simmons.

I feel like the Heat make a lot of sense.  He'd probably be happy in Miami, they have a hard working alpha dog already on the roster, and with Harden they'd have an iron clad top three stars that would make them the favorites in the East.  They also have a great coach who is well established.

Herro + salary filler (Olynyk + Iguodala?) + picks

Not as good a package as Simmons, but it doesn't seem like Philly wants to do that.  I'd rather have Miami's trade package than whatever the Nets would put out there.

I don't know. As somebody who thinks Tyler Herro is incredibly overrated, it makes me laugh to think that he would be the centerpiece of a Harden package.

LeVert, Dinwiddie, and Allen seems like a considerably better package and I still think that falls way short.

Maybe if the Heat include Butler with Herro, it could make sense. And I know that sounds ridiculous and will never happen, but HOU still might be getting the short end in this trade.

The Heat also don't have their 2021 or 2023 first rounders. They don't have most of their seconds. I don't think they have enough draft capital to make it happen, regardless of whether or not the Rockets think Herro might be a future all-star.

I agree with you that Herro is pretty overrated. I view him as JR Smith type scorer. I think he will be a really good player for a lot of years--even getting up to 20 ppg. But I don't think his stock will ever be more than it is right now.

I voted Houston as I don't see the Rockets trading him this year. Next off season, maybe. Just don't see it this year.

I went with Houston too. Doubt there's any trade that HOU likes, the acquiring team likes, and Harden likes. BOS can do a Brown-centered  deal without Smart, but I doubt Danny's leaning that way, we're not on Harden's list, and HOU may not think as highly of Brown as we do.

Of the teams on the list, PHI is the obvious pick, but I'd stick with Simmons. After that, HOU shouldn't do a deal with MIL (Middleton's 29), MIA (no potential all stars), or BKN (same).

I’d give a 1st round pick up for hero or Robinson.  8)

I think Simmons + 3 picks as the demanding price for Philadelphia is probably playing hard ball/vendetta against Morey, but Simmons has to be offered by Philadelphia to make a deal. We've also heard that the Rockets want to sent Harden east. That makes the market small and thus I expect that the required offer for Harden won't be as astronomical as the Paul George deal for instance.

I would be pretty p---ed off though if the Heat would get Harden for just Herro + Olynyk + Iguodala + picks.
We could easily beat that. Yeah, I like the future core of Pritchard?/Smart/Langford???/Brown/Nesmith???/Tatum/G.Williams?/R.Williams but we need a lot of development and that team is still 2-3 years away from really competing.

Whether you like him or not, James Harden is a game changer. Each of the last 4 years he finished top 3 in MVP voting!
He's not young, but at 31 also not too old.

My offer would be something like this:

1. Walker+Brown for Harden+Gordon and then Gordon+picks to a 3rd team, for instance Cavs (Nance Jr/Love) or Bulls (Porter) or Magic (Fournier/A.Gordon/Vucevic) or Kings (Bjelica and Holmes) or Utah (Gobert,  ;D dream scenario, won't happen)

2. Walker+Smart+Langford+Theis+pick(s) for Harden+Gordon+Tucker

The Heat probably aren't going to move Bam (or Butler), have very little in draft capital, and can't trade Dragic for awhile, so they basically have to include all of their young players i.e. Herro, Robinson, Nunn and then need Olynyk and Iguodala for salary.  If that is the best you can get from Miami, then you don't make that trade.  It does improve if you put Dragic in there instead of KO and AI, so maybe mid-season that trade is revisited, but I still think I'd rather have some combination of LeVert, Dinwiddie, Allen, Kurucs, Prince, Shamet, Brown than that trio from the Heat.  Again though that isn't a good trade for Houston.  Heck given that Houston has none of their own 1st's, I think a package centered around Middleton actually is a better deal for the Rockets as there is a pretty good chance that no one you acquire from either Miami or Brooklyn ever becomes anywhere near as good as Middleton.  Middleton, DiVincenzo, Wilson, Patton for Harden.  Since Houston can't rebuild, that trade is probably better than Miami or Brooklyn.

At the end of the day though, I think Houston just hopes that the Sixers start of the season looking bad and eventually agree to Simmons plus some draft picks.  Or that Boston decides that it wants to go all in around Tatum and puts Brown + Smart + some 1st's on the table.  Those are clearly better trades than anything they could get from Miami, Brooklyn, or Milwaukee, and since they have 2 seasons, they can afford to wait a bit and see what shakes out.  Also, I know they haven't shown an inclination to trade Harden to a western team, but I could absolutely envision a team like Denver getting desperate and wowing the Rockets with an offer.  I mean a package that includes both Murray and Porter (add Monte Morris and PJ Dozier and the money works) would have to be seriously considered by the Rockets and if I'm the Nuggets it is something I'd have to consider as well as a Harden/Jokic duo would be incredible.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip
