I do believe the reports that Harden didn't make it to the Celtics wishlist either. I'm sure at some price Ainge would be interested, but not at any realistic one.

Is Harden still holding out? Or is he back at practice?

Not sure but I thought I read he went back to practice. If so, that is a weak move by Harden.

He's back in Houston but the league isn't allowing him to practice until he has 6 negative covid tests because of his strip club bender.

I'm not sold on that.  At what cost will it take to get him?  And there is no guarantee of anything if you get him.  Could very well plateau.

This. If any situations are being monitored it should be Giannis. Pairing him with Tatum on 5 yr max contracts is worth trading the rest of the team. Hayden not so much

I don't see Harden as a good fit with the Celtics.  We are a motion, passing team with multiple wings and no real offensive big.  I can see Harden working well in Philly with Embiid and in Mil with Giannis though.

In 2017-18 the Rockets were up 3-2 in the WCF over the Warriers when Chris Paul got injured.  GSW came back and won the series and then swept the Cavs in the finals.

That Houston team had Paul-Harden-Ariza-Ryan Anderson-Capela as the starting core with Gordon, Tucker, and Luc Mbah a Moute as the bench depth.  Old friend Gerald Green also played a key role.

If you look at that team, Chris Paul deferred but still had decent numbers.  None of the others were "need the ball in my hands" guys.  Capela just dunked, Ryan Anderson just stood around and shot 39% from 3, and Ariza is a complementary player.

I believe that you can build a title contending team around Harden as this did in 2017-18 (until Chris Paul got hurt).

Man, that would be nice. Good idea. Trade Trae Young for James Harden. Rockets get a sorta franchise player to build a new future around. Atlanta have all the other pieces. They just need a legit ready to produce MVP candidate which Harden is. Replace Young with Harden and Atlanta is a major threat to win the title.

PG: Harden, Rondo, Dunn
SG: Huerter, Reddish
SF: Bogdanovic, Hunter
PF: John Collins, Gallo
 C: Capela, Okongwu

Maybe swing a trade for more of a combo guard type to start alongside Harden who can defend PGs.
