Lots of people saying that somehow Waters is a part of this team. All the C's have done is put in a qualifying offer for his two way spot. They could pull that at anytime and he is gone.

Waters has yet to sign a Celtics contract. So for those saying if he isn't good enough to warrant rotation minutes next year then dump him.....well....they still might. He is not yet on next year's team. Neither is Tacko.
Don't give me hope.

And haven't heard a single rumor about other teams being interested.

what is a qualifying offer? Doesnt the player just have to accept it and it becomes binding?

And if he accepts, he is accepting a two way contract, meaning his year will be about the same as last with next to no time in the NBA. He is smarter looking to try to catch onto an NBA team with a main roster slot.

All season, we were complaining that we didn't have any backcourt scoring off the bench. We finally add EXACTLY that in Teague, and somehow, people are still complaining. Lol. Celtics fans are the best.

Is this with the BAE or the minimum exception? Also sceptical about this signing - Teague absolutely sucked for the Wolves last season imo. Hoping he can rekindle some of his magic in Atlanta.

Top, athletic, veteran NBA talent at the PG....yikes!

Teague is going to make the Celtics a better team.

We have a freaking bench! I can't believe it!

TT + JT = bench!

Thompson and Teague—THAT'S the type of thing I've been hoping for!

Two vets with a lot of experience, including playoff experience, who still have a good amount in the tank. Thompson is the legit starting center Boston has needed (no offense to Theis, whom I think is more suited to coming off the bench), and Teague is a solid backup PG, a big upgrade from Wanamaker. It’ll also be nice to have them around to help out the youngsters.

I was bummed about getting nothing for Hayward, but this makes up for it. Good work, Danny!

If we can get 12/5 with a steal from him on like 44/37/85 splits in about 24 minutes, I’d be very happy with this signing.

I’m still in favor of starting Nesmith over Smart, he’s more complimentary of Walker/Tatum/Brown. So a bench of Teague/Smart/Langford/G. Williams/Thompson is solid.

Maybe half way or at the end of the season, unless the kid can learn quick and shows a lot, no summer leauge and a short training camp and preseason. The game is much faster and it's been a while since he's played. I'll be happy if he can contibute just off the bench. But if they can get that trade exception from CHA in that S&T we might not have to worry about it.

Yeah, it would be really nice if Nesmith could instantly be a contributor for us. I would love to see a Kemba/Brown/Nesmith/Tatum/Theis lineup, or something like that.

It would be hard for Nesmith to start immediately without Summer League and all the usual pre-season stuff. But I think by the 2nd half of the season it would be beneficial. A sniper who can hold his own and switch on the perimeter would be ideal, and a bench of Smart-Teague-Thompson/Theis would be awesome

Another good sign by Danny. Teague is a veteran PG, a former all star, now at the point of being an excellent backup.

Thompson and Teague less Hayward make the Celtics stronger. Thompson must get 25 minutes at center. Teague is Walker insurance.
