Seriously... C's have five guys who can play PG Smart, Kemba, Waters, Edwards, Pritchards why sign Teague? They just lost Hayward, sign a big wing player. What is the obsession with guards?

Curious to see what Teague signed for. We still could have the Kanter TPE and another exception, though even those moves would probably be for a minor addition (or midseason acquisition next season)

He's a clear upgrade over Wanamaker. Nice signing. Him and Thompson give us a strong vet presence with playoff experience.

Strong vet presence, but neither has been in the playoffs for a few years, right?

Always liked him as a backup PG.  Fell off a bit statistically last year.  I figure due to Trae Young emergence -- less PT.

Upgrade at backup PG over BW.   Should be a 10/5 guy.

Neither waters or Edward's have shown nba  ability to consistently play the 1

Smart is a better 2.

Waters - at best - is a 3rd stringer at this point. I'm not sure Carsen is even an NBA player. And we have no idea what Pritchard is yet at the NBA level. Given the concerns over Kemba's knee, it makes sense to get another vet in the mix.

SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

Because Waters is a 2nd yr player with some potential and limited experience against NBA competition.  Pritchards is a rookie.  Edwards showed next to nothing last year.  Teague is here to develop one or two of those three players to take on that role by the end of the year.  I would expect Teague not to play much if one of those three surpass him by earning it.  This is veteran insurance in case none of the 3 young players work out this year.

I feel a lot better than I did a couple of hours ago.

Pick up a back up wing and we’re looking good.

Don’t hate this one, I’ve seen way too many breakout games by Teague torching us through the years. Nice backup PG for us that can score.

Great bench scoring guard pickup!

Got to say, I was really hoping for a IT reunion, but Teague will suffice.

I forgot for a moment about Pritchard.  I have no concern about Edwards or Waters.  Neither showed me they are ready to a rotation role (obviously I could be wrong).  I think it will be great to have Teague and Pritchard getting backup PG minutes.   Unfortunately, no size there and very small backcourt when with Kemba.
